re: Speaking of CHristmas Freezes! 1983 and 1989.

83 was brutal in Benton. They had been digging out along side highway 3 to make a four lane through town. Dug down about 3 feet iirc. After the sheet of ice fell several big rigs slid off and turned over.
Local PD were borrowing 3 wheelers to answer calls. Was a rough, rough, storm.

I was all over the straight half of Bourbon [no homo]and Harrah's last week. I did not get shot or stabbed suprisingly. TO the question at hand, most places checked and either did not look close or wanted the name on the card to match ID. Find a blank on Google or DDG, print it, fill it out with your information, snap pic to keep on phone. I felt like everyone was looking for a reason to allow us in rather than keep us out.
If someone is a stickler at Harrah's, there is more than one entrance. My guest and I had no issues anywhere. Possibly the most thorough check was the Dungeon bar.
No place was so busy that they couldn't have checked closely. Great times to still be had there.

Skiing New Mexico in April
Posted by baylee252 on 2/23/22 at 2:53 pm
Looking for the best early April skiing spot in the New Mexico, lower Colorado area.
I have skied Ruidoso, Red River, Angel Fire, Wolf Creek and Durango at Christmas and Thanksgiving previously. Just wondering what options may be out there.
Thank ya kindly.

Who is the best offensive minded coach available for hire?
Posted by baylee252 on 11/29/21 at 3:54 pm
Sort of think the hire has been settled for a while. About the time O was fired our DC began to run his defense as opposed to what O had him doing. Points to an offensive mind Perhaps. Perhaps a live 5 game audition to join either O'Brien or Meyer?

Used a code to order a range finder from them a week+ ago. Have not received shipping information or notice of shipment. I called customer service, got the run around. Anyone have similar issues with them or am I just extra lucky?

It has a team. A few members qualified for state the last few years. Coach isn't a lot of help in the nutrition department. He is good with the super heavys and the 90 pounders. Doesn't know what to do with the middle groups.

Very small town, fairly remote. We have a dollar general but not much else.
High School power lifting and nutrition
Posted by baylee252 on 8/13/21 at 3:42 pm
I have a high school girl who is into power lifting. 2 years ago she competed in the 165 weight class. Last year she was in the 148 weight class. Since season is over she has maintained a super strict diet and has shed to 134. When she added cardio she began to shed weight. She wants to bulk up and compete this year in the same weight class without sacrificing all cardio. Has made regionals 3 years in a row and this is her last year. Trying to make it a good one for her.
What is the best diet/lifting program to get her there? Any recommendations for online or zoom fitness gurus?

I was 16 years old. Worked as a busboy at Cypress Inn near Benton. Owners were on a vacation and one of their sisters were brought in to manage the place while they were away. She earned the name BattleBitch within the first 10 minutes of a Friday night shift.
About 7 pm it was super busy and me and the boys had heard enough. We went to the bar, grabbed a few beers, tucked them into the pockets of our aprons, and walked out to the lake and started fishing. BattleBitch came out hollering about the tables that needed cleaning. We wished her luck and went back to our fishing. When the bosses returned the next week they asked most of us back.
21 years old, East Texas plywood mill. Had a boss tell me that if I didn't like him I should whip him. I did. Walked out a legend in my own mind.

I know the fiddle player very well. He is one of the best you will here in this type of band if that is your thing. Overall a tight band that puts out good songs. Worth a ticket when they are close to you.

I am not in BR area. But always up for a road trip. Have a decent sized farm that I believe would make that pup quiet happy. I also crate train. If you have no other options or something else doesnt work out, let me know.

Yes sir. Cold is not an issue. Been to the area a few times in the Winter. Just never paid any attention to fishing opportunities.
Appreciate the feedback.

Fishing in Ruidoso area at the end of December/Early January
Posted by baylee252 on 6/14/21 at 11:10 am
Traveling to Ruidoso after Christmas with some teenagers. We will ski a little, tube a litte, explore the outdoors a lot. Any tips on fishing the area that time of year? Location? Species to target? Bait to use?
As always, thank you
