There is so much failure with your post. But hey to each their own.
The biggest takeaway from this game is Miles had Saban beat with Anthony Jennings under center. Think about that for a second.

If the 2 teams wouldve switched QB's, LSU wouldve blew out the gumps that night.

You have a minute left you are on their 25 year line and you call a time out because you can’t call a fricking RUNNING play without having a delay penalty!!! If that IDIOT would have just run the ball, just like he did coming out of the time out. Bama would have had 25 seconds left to drive the field for the FG to tie it!!

What are you talking about? The clock was stopped. Didn't change anything. Bama called all timeouts... We win if we scoop and score the fumble or move the ball 6 yards and don't get a penalty). shite or just stop them.

ETA: Not to mention, the timeout was called with 8 seconds left so even in your hypothetically wrong scenario, they would get the ball back with 47 seconds instead of 54

That was brutal but that game flipped on a BS pass interference call.

LSU had the lead, Bama was out of synch, they get a weak call to extend a drive and score on a long pass and catch to the TE. LSU’s safeties were awful in 2013.

Felt like that play woke them up and LSU couldn’t get it going.

I think some of you are giving O way too much credit on the recruiting aspect. He’s done okay but some of you act like he is hauling in epic DLine and OLine classes.

He’s Miles light at best and has Aranda to thank for almost all of his success Whig he had no part in hiring here.

Again, he’s scored 1 points in three games against Bama and fired the guy that got the 10 points. The OL has shown little to no development under O’s regime and so that will be the issue.

That said, Miles time was done long ago. He lost the trenches and cowered to a senile Chavis.

Since the win in 2011, Miles' teams played two competitive games vs Bama.
Key words not yet associated with Ed vs Bama.

29-0 > 21-0?????
2011 was still in reach at 15-0 in 4th qtr.
2018 it was 16-0 at half and losing by larger margin than '11 final score in 3rd qtr.

We had less than 100 total yards in the game, so no way in hell were we going to be competitive.

Bama would have literally had to fumble three times in their own end zone

There were bonehead calls before that. Fake field goal, going for it on 4th with a terrible playcall, etc.

I am a big LSU fan, I don't care what they are playing. But I still value the play and the play-calling during the game.

Miles no doubt was in the bottom half of all the coaches I have seen at LSU.

If you listen to Charlie and Ott, they did an interview with skip and he said point-blank. Saban left a team so talented anyone was going to win and Miles was not going anywhere soon because he had young kids.

I get his line of thinking, but that's not what to look for when hiring a football coach at LSU.

That was lack of execution on the kicker. Many a kicker have pulled that one off. Then again don't call it if you don't have confidence in the kicker. If the kicker did that on his own then he should have been chewed out and ride the pine the rest of the year.

Shadiqq Charles will change your mind about OL development this year IMHO. Rosenthal and Wire could do the same if they reach their potential. We get Dumervil this recruiting cycle will you also feel better about OL? Or, you just hate on the HC so much you can't see any improvement when it is reality?

And that is expected in T-Town or even in TS vs Gump. Unfortunately we have to play through the bonehead calls and rise above them. And in 2014 there was the unsportsman like penalty when we got the ball back after the Beckwith fumble recovery that should have been off setting. Kept any legit change of getting a TD instead of FG considering who we had QB.

Exemplified by Miles actually winning games at a much greater pace with Saban's own recruits.....and then reaching another NC game with his own recruits?

Backing into an NC and then getting embarrassed in another with maybe one of the most talented LSU teams ever.

Fixed it for ya.

O had to over recruit some positions and take chances with other positions because Miles was horrible with roster management.

Love all the UT truthers, “I knew in game 2 the guy that was about to go on a 75-17 run with 2 SEC titles and an NC was a terrible coach!!!!”

Those are the "we told you so" types that never accepted that Saban left. Miles was blessed with a divided fanbase for his whole time because of people like that. Unfortunately, the only chance Miles ever had to unify the fan base was by winning the 2011 title, and the way it blew up sealed his fate.
