Just rewatched UGA vs UFPosted by wayup on 12/3/19 at 9:29 am

This is going to be a hell of a game.
UGA's offensive line is better than any we've seen all year, and one of the best in college football. Their dbs are very athletic, and they get a decent pass rush bringing just 4. This is going to be the biggest test our offense faces all year.
I think this game is close into the fourth, but the best player in cfb makes the difference. Tigers by 14

Agree. GA is solid everywhere. That Oline is good. Their weak link is the "bad Fromm". When the "good Fromm" shows up, they are a tough out. We need to get in his head. I agreed with you that our QB will be the difference Saturday. Burrow refuses to lose this year!

I disagree. Every game they played against a decent opponent have been 1 score game. 19-13 against a&m and now swift isnt 100 percent and pickens their leading recevier gone for 1h. 42-17 LSU

You listened to the Coach O presser yesterday, didn't you?

Our DL has not generated much pass rush but they are pretty damn good at stopping the run. I think we match up well. Shelvin is going to command two blockers. This game is on the linebackers IMO.
I think we match up well with Georgia across the board on both sides of the ball. If we don't have any busts in assignments or coverage we will stop them. If the OL keeps Joe clean I don't think they can stop us.
Games like this worry me when I am this confident because I'm usually more cautious in my views or victory.
If we keep Swift in check, their offense will struggle to score. Their offensive line is good, so we'll have to stick to our gap assignments and protect the perimeter. Overall, their offense is pretty vanilla. I expect them to lean on the run and try to control the clock. We have to get off the field n 3rd down.
The defense is sound. They're not overwhelming in any spot, but they're not bad in any spot. We are just going to have to take what they give us. It could be a real chess match between our offense and their defense. We just have to zig when they're expecting us to zag.

I just don't think they can score enough. Especially with their top receiver hurt and Pickens out for the first half.
Will make their already one-dimensional offense even more one-dimensional. And Swift isn't 100 percent on top of all that.
They will likely be down 2 or 3 scores at halftime, and then it will be too late.

I think if you look at LSU’s body of work to date and think to yourself UGA is the biggest test LSU’s offense will face then you should probably put the pipe down.
UGA has literally NO answer on offense, none. While their defense has seemed to play tough look at the offenses they have played, look at the statistics of those offenses, and look at those same teams SOS AND record.

Despite what the national media's perception on LSU's Defense is, the reality is, we are good at stopping the run.
If you take LSU's best performance(Utah State) and worst performance (Ole Miss) out of the averages.
LSU's rush defensive stats:
Yards per game: 102.7 --> Ranks 10th in the country
TDs per game: 0.7 --> Ranks 8th in the country
Yards per carry: 3.12 --> Ranks 12th in the country

LSU pulls away big in the 2nd half
LSU's defense is finally healthy (DL was banged up all season, delpit was hurt, etc.). Took some time to get them back up to speed. I expect to see play like LSU D's of the past. Not saying they are perfect, but highly underrated.
Also BDB and co. are unstoppable

Auburn was the first team to run the defense that we saw when we played them.
On a sloppy field, LSU still put up 518 yards of offense.
I don't think there is a scheme we will see that we won't be prepared for.
Joe Burrow in a dome?? He might throw for 1,000.

Then there should be no reason for Fromme to be sucking as bad he has. They may make some noise, but by the time they do, it will be too late.
They don't get a ton of sacks (96th in sack %). They've gotten a lot of QB hurries vs. some weaker teams (except UF), but haven't been a dominant group rushing the passer. Where they are good is that they shut down the run and they have several outstanding LB's. They also don't give up big plays in the passing game. They really just try to keep everything in front of them and do a good job of tackling once the ball is caught.
On offense they protect their QB better than anyone else. They can also open up running lanes. Expecting LSU to be able to get pressure with just their front 4 is probably a bit of a stretch. LSU will need to blitz, and I suspect they will with UGA's best WR out and their most explosive WR suspended for the 1st half.
I'm interested to see how they attack LSU on offense. Last year they seemed to throw the ball far too much even though they were having good success on the ground. Fromm never really got going and by the time they realized they could gash LSU on the ground, LSU had extended the lead. Even with a less than 100% Swift I can't imagine UGA not trying to establish the run early and often. They are going to try to slow the game to a crawl and own the TOP. In response, can LSU's LB's be disciplined? They've gotten themselves out of position far too many times this year. Also, does Aranda have enough trust in Hampton to allow Delpit to play closer to the line? That's where Delpit really shines as opposed to just being a center-fielder

To be fair, how much of that is because teams felt they needed to abandon the run early to keep pace with LSU's offense? Bama completely ran through LSU's defense in the second half. Even down big, Ole Miss had no choice but to keep running and they carved up LSU's defense. AU never completely abandoned the run (because that is Gus's game) and their freshman was able to rush for 130 vs LSU on 13 carries.
That's not to say LSU's run defense has been terrible. But it's certainly been helped by the fact opponents have been terrified of LSU's offense running away and hiding if they weren't able to keep up

It very well could be but I just don't see it UGA was a bad PI call away from losing to TAM, think about that!
