hired Will Wade; he quietly brings in a competent staff; coaches up the guys; no we coming, next year BS; results from day 1; putting the team on a freshman's shoulders, etc, etc
how hard can it be to repeat that and we are a goddamn football school for crying out loud with tradition, money and history!!!

The people at the top simply do not seem to care or know how to establish a winning football program. We gave the keys to a ferrari to a group of fifteen year old kids just learning how to drive.

This is O's last fricking year anyways. I do not see this fricktard of a coach being here after they frick up this season. I'm at least happy about that

The politics involved with LSU football and the "good old boy" system. That's the problem.

This is what happens when you have someone so unbelievably incompetent doing the hiring.

Wade outright lobbied for the LSU job. LSU's was lucky enough to have a guy in the athletic dept. who played for Billy Donovan at Florida and really pushed hiring Wade. This was AFTER Joe Alleva struck out on his second basketball hire, one in which he hired a Louisiana guy with no track record of major success and whom no other major program in America wanted. LSU then allowed Alleva to make THE EXACT SAME frickING HIRE in football. Eddie Nunez saved Joe Alleva from his own incompetence. Alleva has done nothing to deserve the benefit of the doubt.
Wade is a polar opposite of Ogeron. Wade is incredibly detailed oriented. He has a vision and knows EXACTLY what he wants to do to reach that vision...down to even the most minute details. Ogeron is cliche/platitude bot with know real plan other than he wants to be good. He can't even tell you what type of offense he wants to run, let alone how he plans to make LSU a championship program. There are no details other than a fricking drum that says "one team. one heartbeat". His plan is to recruit the very best players then hope they figure it out on their own. It's Johnny Jones 2.0 and there is only ONE common denominator....Alleva. He is the worst LSU athletic director in at least over 30 years. Broadhead spent like a teenage girl and did some other nefarious stuff, but he also hired some damn good coaches. Dean was hancuffed with budget restraints until Emmert stepped in. Skip hired two of LSU's most successful coaches...Maineri and Les. Alleva was handed the keys to a Ferrari Promptly backed it into a mailbox. Then hit his own garage door trying to drive away from the mailbox.

Hired Trent Johnson
Hired Johnny Jones
Almost fired then didnt Les Miles in about 4 hours
Let Jimbo slip away in 15
Fired Miles in September. Conducted no search.
Let Fisher play him, let Herman play him.
Hired Ed Orgeron
Hired Matt Canada, paid Matt Canada to leave.
Hired Steve Ensminger as OC.
Fails to support coaches with the tools needed. See PM and his flirting with Texas.
Lets not forget about distant failures:
Threw an entire team of innocent lacrosse players under the bus for fear of bad PR.
Hired and lost Murphy in 48 hours.

I've got news for you. A person that performs at a high level and is strongly motivated to be the best is not going to stay under incompetent leadership for very long. There's no saving the football program at this point, it's done and will have to be rebuilt from the ground up. If Alleva and F King are not kicked out of this school soon, Will Wade will jump at the opportunity to get out of here. I give it 3 years max and if things are still a dumpster fire here, he gone.

He got a guy who was lead assistant and known as the guard whisperer who had been at Wichita St. under Greg Marshall for 6 years (and 6 NCAAT appearances is that time) to come here to join him in a situation that was left in very bad shape by WW's predecessor.
To me that was a better recruiting job than any of the players he's gotten. Still trying to figure out how he accomplished that.

Well his first press he said he wanted a spread offense, then he hired Canada and now he wants a "USC offense". I've heard he promised the USC offense at Ole Miss to, but then hired a coach who was not adept at it, by his own admission.
Hopefully, whatever the USC offense is, Ensminger knows and is better at running it.

Exactly, lucking into Will Wade does not excuse years of excessive incompetence

No way they win the West next year. Probably a non Jan 1 bowl with maybe a loss there as well.

Not taking anything away from Wade - I think he's done a fantastic job so far - but turning around a basketball program in shambles is a much different animal than the problems with our football team.
First off, our basketball program was in such poor shape that we'd be happy with a winning record as long as we show improvement. Football is not close to that. We're still a perennial top 15 team, we just need to make that jump back into the elite. It's a lot harder to go from good to great than it is to go from terrible to average.
Second, just by the nature of the game, it's easier for one player to make a huge impact on a basketball team than it is for football. One player is 20% of your offensive and defensive players. One player can be the difference between a great team and a bad team in basketball (look at Cleveland with and without LeBron James). In football, it doesn't quite work that way.
Again, not taking anything away from Wade and his success so far, but it's really not a fair comparison.

Will Wade Is a young talented coach and recruiter.
Where’s my young talented football coach?

MBB has already equaled their win total from last year, and half of their SEC wins from last year. This program is moving in the right direction because we hired a guy that will take us there. Football has done the complete opposite.

Football does not need to be built from the ground up! Lol , it just needs a new leader.
Kirby Smart would have this team in the playoffs next year
