Just listened to about a 20 minute long interview with Ryan Theriot

On WWL. I know he's been talked about before on here but after hearing his interview I would love to see him on staff in some capacity.
He talked about what our hitters approach should be more than I think our hitters think about what their approach should be sometimes. Said each at bat should have a purpose depending on the situation and too many of our hitters just look to hit the ball out of the ballpark every at bat.
Specifically talked about what he sees wrong with Saul Garzas swing. Said there is too many moving parts and he just needs to keep his weight back, keep his head still, and let his body do the work.
Talked about in batting practice some of the best hitters he ever played with never pulled the ball during BP because they always wanted to hit up the middle or opposite field because that's the way to become a complete hitter.
Just a really good interview and you can tell he knows his shite and seems like he would be a great person to teach hitting. I dont know if they will put the interview up online. If they do I'll link it or someone else can if they see it first.
Edited to add link to interview LINK

Anyone who listens to theriot podcasts has likely already heard the same stuff and agrees he would probably be better than the curent hitting coach. At the sametime, i think he makes it sound a little bit easier than it is.

I really really want Theriot coaching at LSU.
Him and Paul both need to do whatever it takes to set their differences aside for the better of the program that they both love.

Theriot isn’t going to work with an a-hole like PM.

Chaaaaaaaaaaaaaabill’s!

You mean he talked for 20 minutes without being derailed by an arrogant host who throws the whole discussion off by making fun of Theriot and begging him to make fart jokes?!

Theriot would shite his pants to get the chance to coach for LSU.

Maybe, but he wouldn't work for Mainieri.

Would the money be worth it to give up his gig now? Or would money be a non-factor? I have no idea what he’s sitting on financially

Theriot is knowledgable, but I kind of feel like the value of hitting coaches is a little overrated.
At least we know what your TD username is now Paul.
All joking aside. Hitting coaches overrated? The greatest hitters to ever play the game had someone that watched them and helped them find and break bad habits. Why do you think guys like Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson have swing coaches? It’s the same reason.
The rant can show some freaking ignorance sometimes.

Will you please tell me what the problem is between Theriot and Mainieri? I never knew of this until I read it here. Thank you.

Theriot has said some stuff about Paul’s decisions over the years. I think Mainieri would feel threatened by Theriot if he were on staff. Think about if the offense was top 10 in the nation because of Ryan being on the staff. Any chance given we’d all be screaming to promote him.

But also I gotta say Paulie shouldn't be listening to sports radio.
