Just curious - who placed the Wade-Dawkins telephone call?

If Dawkins called Wade, I'd be inclined to give Wade a little more slack. Maybe some of the things Wade said were to get rid of Dawkins. Even at that, Wade should have figured the call could be taped.
If Wade called Dawkins (even if he was returning a call) - that's a little more damning. Knowing about Dawkins, that's a call he should never have made.

So this shite was all set to come out for March Madness.
At least this was one good unintentional consequence from COVID.

Bigger question is if wade was running up the price, who didn’t he get, where did they go, and let’s start going after everybody. Who cares who called who.

Who the hell cares, Wade is just trying to win. Every damn team does it, and now we’re finally playing with the big boys. Reflects in our upcoming recruiting class

Honestly, it sounds like a tongue in cheek joke when he said “we can pay him the league minimum” then Dawkins laughed, then he said “We can pay him more than D-league” like he was of course serious about paying whoever it was, but trying to make a joke out of it. It’ll depend on Wade’s tone when he said it. Either way, there is no paper trail and it doesn’t prove shite.

There’s a reason money is never mentioned on these calls. The coaches don’t pay anybody anymore. The money comes from an entirely separate entity altogether and the scheme works so well because fans don’t even know where to look. The blue bloods can send henchman like Forde out to smear people and it works but they’re nowhere near the target so the big dogs remain safe from blowback.

What if Wade was under cover, setting up Dawkins for the FBI.
Maybe the Blue Bloods and their promoters, Sports Networks, are pissed at Wade for exposing their racket

This is the part our Rant brethren, who have convicted Wade already, loves to overlook. Wade helped the FBI put Dawkins away. Only on a network like HBO speaking to the “true housewives” type crowd would try and successfully take a convicts account about people who testified against him and spin it as truth.

Cooperated with the FBI to help them understand Dawkins activities. They used Wade’s testimony to widen their investigation into Dawkins. We had multiple articles and sources talking about this last year if you remember.

SI article says they were after Rick Pitino and that when they asked him to talk about him he clammed up and wouldn't talk! ???? C'mon man. Follow the $. Dawkins likely got some green from the bluegrass state.
It also says Miller lost out on Little to Miami/North Carolina. Why aren't those coaches in trouble?
Bluebloods get away with this year in and year out, but guys like Dick Vitale want to bash LSU and CWW for trying to compete with the big boys.
