People need to get over this - it's not happening. Nor should it.
PETA are idiots but that has nothing to do with the fact that the tradition is done. It wasn't the best idea in the first place, regardless of how cool it was. I'm happy to have seen it the last years as a student but it's over.

All that aside, we’d never have another Tiger again if we did this. We got our current Tiger as a rescue and it was not easy to do. The only Tigers we will have from this day forward will be rescues and they’re not gonna give us rescued Tigers to care for if we intend to parade them around the stadium in a cage. This isn’t hard to understand.
I’d rather have Mike living happily in his enclosure than no Mike at all and that’s what this really boils down to.

what would actually happen post game if LSU did wheel Miie in and around the stadium pre game?
Why isn't the same 'caution' applied to the Buffalo that is run out on the field at Colorado? Have they given the buffalo test to discern his anxiety level? Is that particular buffalo just not as dangerous to people as other buffalo? That dangerous wild animal isn't even in a cage, but two cheerleaders holding on to him with a rope? Now that is what I call potentially dangerous. Not a Tiger in a cage!

Because if they ever do it, they will lose their accreditation as a tiger sanctuary, and won't ever be able to get another tiger when this Mike dies. I know a lot of people don't care about the future and just want their immediate desires of seeing Mike's cage paraded around the stadium satisfied, but the downvoters care about having a tiger on campus going forward.
I'm not sure why this is so hard to understand.

Nostalgia is great. Times have changed, however. I remember the cheer leaders riding on the tiger cage as mike was hauled around the field to the crowd going wild. Maybe the big screen jumbotron could show videos of the days when this was the norm with the audio playing hold that tiger.

No. I've seen them literally spray one of the older Mikes with a water hose and try to poke him to get down from a rock in his old cage in an attempt to get him in his cage. He refused and wasn't in TS that night. This was before the days of fireworks.
