Bryant didn't even flinch. Now that was Cool...

Yeah....... do whatever has to be done to get Mike ready in the cage, then lie about it.
I swear to God I went into a game one night with tiger-piss all over me from leaning against the little cage as they were switching him into it. Once I figured out what was happening I was drenched......okay.....had to share

Never drink and post again. Matter of fact bring your computer or phone or whatever you posted this on in your backyard and beat it with a baseball bat like on Office Space.

I can 100% assure you. There are no "Freshmen" students at the vet school. That's the exact same as saying a "freshman" over at Med School. You have to complete a certain amount of college courses before you ever get to apply, and maybe 200 out of over a thousand get an interview. Of those 200, 85-90 will be accepted every year in the fall.
It's harder to get into vet school than it is any other professional school. Trust me, there are no "freshmen".
Regarding Mike VI: he's a 500-600ib non-domesticated wild animal. You can't whistle for him to come and he comes running. If he doesn't want to get in the cage, he isn't going to the game. If the vets that are responsible for his care, and monitor him regularly think it would be potentially harmful to get him in the trailer, he isn't going to the game. At the end of the day, whether or not Mike is there is irrelevant if the product on the field is not better than the opposition.

Why doesn't LSU just hire that Tiger Whisperer guy to get Mike in the damn cage? That guy gets Mike to come all of the way across his habitat to give him a "kiss".

Ok....so what politically correct term do First Year Vet students prefer to go by. I certainly do not want to offend anyone.

According to the "LSU School of Veterinary Medicine 2014-2015 Bulletin" they are called......wait for it....a Freshman.

Were all of the previous Mikes domesticated and so small they could be hand loaded into the trailer.

You can't whistle for him to come and he comes running
Did this approach work for the previous Mikes
quote:
If he doesn't want to get in the cage, he isn't going to the game
Did the previous Mikes get in the cage simply because they had a sincere want to do so?
quote:

Are all of the current caretakers simply more conscientiousness than all previous caretakers who found it acceptable to let all previous Mikes get in a cage and go to the games?

Nobody said it had anything to do with 'product on the field'; but then neither does the band, the cheerleaders, the walk down the hill, the wearing of white uniforms at home or the running through the old style goal post to enter the field. Should we do away with any of those because they have nothing to do with our performance on the field? College football is about more than performance on the field. That's a big part of it, but it also about the pageantry and tradition that comes with it.

Mike is a wonderful mascot whether he goes to games or not.
He's not here to get in his cage at the whim and beck and call of some overgrown frat boys/fan boys.
I'm glad we've become part of a civilized and advanced society such that we've forsaken barbarism like poking him with cattle prods or coercing/tricking him into his cage.
Mike is a sovereign, sentient being as well as a majestic and beautiful tiger. If he stays in his habitat and never goes to another game, that's fine with me.
And yes, I'm on of dem "tree-huggin' lib'ruls."
If you don't like it, bite me.

If he doesn't want to be a Mascot, I say we cut his lazy arse loose. Why pay millions for his habitat and 10s of thousands per year to care for him if he's too fricking ungrateful to drag his trifling arse up into the trailer seven times per year? I say we ship his arse to the wilds of Siberia or Bangladesh and let one of those real wild cats turn him into a prison wife.

they should just put a big arse stuffed animal, play a recorded roar on the mike and 90,000 drunks would never know the difference.
