The idea might be to keep him around

I was wondering about that myself. He has some flaws as a QB that his pure athleticism and playing on a very good team helped to mask in his stats. They are correctable flaws, I think. Maybe they want to look at him in a game situation and see how he does.

If anyone could get him quickly up to speed, I would think it is Lane and his team. I am still not sure he is really an SEC-caliber QB, however.

So Patrick Peterson wasn’t a great Tiger? Jacob Hester wasn’t a great Tiger? Joe Burrow wasn’t a great Tiger? You have completely failed on so many logical levels.

He was asked to play RB, and he did. Can't fault him for that. He did not do terribly, but not great either. He was a decent blocker and pretty good at catching passes out of the backfield. I mentioned to my son I wondered if he could switch to a slot receiver position. He is athletic with good hands from what I could see.

ETA: Think about the actual Tiger greats. You think the guys who quit and transfer out are in that category? Laughingly NO.

Nobody called him a “Tiger Great” he said he’s a great Tiger. If you can’t differentiate between the two you are simply an idiot.

To be fair, Peterson and Hester never transferred.

They just flipped commitments.

The crazy thing is, Shepard was WAY more talented with the ball in his hands, that was a waste of talent.

This is so disgusting. A great Tiger never transfers. Period. You can't be a great Tiger and hit the portal.

I think he's a classy guy and a good player, and I hope he stays, but you can't be great here by rolling the hell out to another school.

A great Tiger fan doesn't leave at halftime

Are you a great Tiger fan?

I started a thread about him when he signed asking about if he would get a shot at QB. Everyone said he would never play QB in college.

And how'd that work out for him in the NFL? He made a living in the league as a decent WR

I meant as far as the coaching staff unable to figure out how to utilize him.

Why is he even playing? Give a player that will be sticking around those touches.

He's a player on the 2025 roster that's playing in a 2025 scheduled game. What are you missing here?

What a stupid comparison.

A fan pays to go to games. A player gets paid to play.

Regardless, would a fan be considered great if they leave early? NO they wouldn't, they'd be considered a terrible fan.

What Gus did with guys like Nick Marshall (who was trash), J.J. Could kill it in that system.

I'm not sure if anyone can truly succeed in the system that's in place, but i wish the kid all the best.

He’s not fast enough to be a great corner and he’s not as tall as you’d like a safety to be. He seems to be exactly what he’s shown to be - a swiss army knife who is not great at anything.
