I've always loved JJ...he has no fear, can play multiple positions (shite is hard), runs smooth between tackles, great balance...on and on...

Always underrated in my opinion...

Plus he has that Barry Sanders attitude about success...focused and not interested in showboating.

Let's go JJ

I'm a big believer that people aren't as high on JuJuan simply because of his recruiting ranking. Remember, he didn't have a higher ranking only because he was projected as a DB and was playing QB in HS, so services didn't really know what to do with him.

JuJu is 6'0" and 210 lbs. and absolutely destroyed Louisiana hs football records at LCA. He can run, he can catch, he's smart, he's well built. A lot of people are straight up sleeping on him imo.

Vanilla is good...if he doesnt run right to the guy that tackles him for no gain like Durham and Jackson.

In 3 carries he helped pick up a first down in the 2nd quarter when the offense looked lifeless.

I suppose. The two plays before that were an 11 yard completion to Anderson and a 13 yard run by Zavion, as was followed by a 19 yard completion to Zavion and a Johnson run of 1 yard.

He also had 31 yards on those screen passes when the defense refused to line up correctly.

My bad, I thought this post was about the run game specifically.

Yeah he has a position now. RB.

Kelly made that clear yesterday.

Durham has looked slower this season (still really fast though)
I s he actually slower, or is it that he never gets to full speed because he runs into piles instead of around them?

I think it’s simply because he only has 23 career carries for 66 yards and has had to try and play multiple different positions. Usually those types of guys don’t get a ton of hype.

If JJ gets the pass blocking down he is a 3 down back.

I’m pretty high on JJ. He isn’t some all world RB, but he is more than serviceable as an SEC back.

Does anyone know what the deal is with Kaleb Jackson? Last year he had some issues with fumbling, but with his lack of playing time this year, is he a bad pass protector as well?

Go watch his HS film and tell me if you still think he is vanilla. I understand it wasn’t 5A competition, but he spent his entire HS career being the most dynamic player on the field.

He is another Russel Gage

I think LSU scores more than 27 and Ole Miss doesn't hit the 20 mark.

How exactly did you come to this conclusion? Is it because lsu offense has been so crisp and amazing?

You’re kind of making my point here for me

Look, I’m not trashing the kid. He obviously has a role on the offense and plays it well. I just don’t see him the the same light that we all saw Guice, Fournette, etc.. or even backs from back in the day like Mike Ford, K Williams, Alfred Blue… he just doesn’t look to have that same type of big play ability that they did, that’s all.

I hope he goes for 15 150 and 2 TDs tomorrow and I look like a fool. I’ll be right here to take my lumps

Different positions, but this is honestly a pretty good comparison ability wise

From what I've seen (and my opinion is always suspect ) he looks improved but not as good as the others(with the possible exception of Berry), particularly in picking the right guy to block. Ju'Juan has been a surprisingly good blocker, and I am becoming more convinced that his time as a QB in HS and in practice for LSU gives him an advantage in his recognition in real time.

He will start at RB this week. Durham isn’t playing. We will see more Kaleb Jackson for short yardage situations.

I like Johnson as a change of pace back but I would be shocked if he has some kind of break out performance. I’d like to see him and Jackson splitting carries if Durham doesn’t play

Kid is legit a weapon. Can run, throw and catch. Should be everywhere on the offense.

You know what, I'm nervous about this game, skeptical about our offense and specifically about our running game but....I kinda agree here....I think Johnson might just show out tomorrow!!
