He consistently put pressure on Nebraska Saturday and we finally broke them. Just solid.

You are equating a really hot series as “can carry a team” because of a series in 2022? We were 40-22 (17-13 SEC). Didn’t carry us in the two run efforts against Tennessee and Kentucky a week later, or in a Super Regional losses to USM. He hit .249 to Pearsons .303 that year.

I mean, I think Jobert went 0-6 in the super regional while Pearson scored in all three games.

WTH?

I was thinking more like this year's Cade Beloso. Good freshman season, followed by nothing but struggles, and then coming on strong in his final year, after not initially looking like he was going to be able to earn consistent playing time.

And he still has to prove that this weekend wasn't a fluke, but it was sure nice to see that after three years of waiting for it. He's had his moments, of course, but nothing quite this loud.

Did I say a season or series or anything else? Did I put any barriers on it? My point was Jobert could carry a team and Pearson has never shown that he could do that. What Pearson has shown is that he is clutch. Jobert was not “clutch” like Pearson or he would’ve been in many games playing instead of sitting on the bench watching Pearson in those moments. Both were left-handed bad and both were outfielders. Johnson has repeatedly stated that Pearson is the player that he trust the most in clutch situations. He has stated that for three years..

The Vandy 22 series might have been one of the most dominant hitting performances against really good pitching, LSU has ever had.

Holy hyperbole

Josh is going to give you a professional at bat every time up. He’s one of my favorites.
Partied with his family and others in Hoover the past couple of years. Great family and food. He’s had so many big at bats and played in so many big games I want him in there when the chips are on the table

Different players completely. Jobert has natural power the likes of which are unattainable to 95% of college ball players no matter how much they lift, train and fine tune their swing. Also a one-trick pony. Pearson is a scrappy, well rounded player who has no chance of playing in the show but can be a big time contributor to this team as he has been for the last two seasons.

You’re right. Crew had his catch at the wall in game 3. Got them mixed up.

Jobert was one of my favorites...along with Dugas! Golly I enjoyed watching those boys hit the ball!
