I did a search and didn’t see anything on this.

Per Will Wade yesterday on OTB, Josh Leblanc is now eligible to play and will be suited up against Sam Houston St Monday at 11am.

I’m pretty excited to see him get on the court. Tpear is great at building out a roster and fixing holes.

BR guy who transferred in from Georgetown

Most likely our best defender so this is great to get him some reps before conference play starts

Transfer from Georgetown

Going to be a huge addition to the defensive side of the ball around the rim

From what I've seen so far look for him to take most of O'Neal's minutes
They need his rebounding and his post defense will help as well

But can he pass block?

Joking of course. Excited to see what he brings to the court.

Yea, unfortunately. Would like to see O'Neal thrive, but he isnt there yet.

Leblanc may soon start over Hyatt or Manning.

Hopefully he is as good as advertise, looking at his tape he seems similar to Emmitt with less offensive skill but we don't need this guy to score.

A lineup with Leblanc/manning/cook out there at the same time has wild defensive potential.

I'd put him around Charles Manning level, meaning he's 20+ minute a game guy (when Manning is healthy). Will be a significant contributor.

He was a Big East all-freshman player at Georgetown. Can rebound, defend the rim even at just 6'7 due to 7+ foot wingspan and score around bucket.

Will be a big addition moving forward, Wade has 13 guys he can put on the court now at any point and not feel bad about it.

This team is really being slept on nationally. After watching Kentucky 3 times now, and Tennessee missing out on some games, I really think the conference is LSU’s to lose.

I honestly don’t think any team in the entire country has a group of players 5-9 like LSU does.

Manning, LeBlanc, Gaines, Mwani, Cook

Then add O’Neal and Hyatt who can easily get some minutes and not have a big drop off...you have legitimately 11 players who can play minutes in the SEC and not be overwhelmed. It’s quite something.

It will be interesting to see how Wade works the matchups. Days and Watford are excellent rebounders (as was Leblanc in his one year at G'town). But they are probably LSU's most efficient scorers as well. Wade wants them in the starting lineup.

The problem is: Who guards the 3? For as good a player as he his, lateral quickness is probably Days' weakness and we know he has a propensity for racking up fouls in a hurry. Many times fouls on defense come from being out of position or trying to recover after being beaten one-on-one. Can Days handle guarding, without fouling, a quicker wing player?

Still WAY too early to say that, but I think LSU is very much in the mix to win it. UK will get better and the length they can put on the court defensively is unmatched. The question is without a reliable facilitator can the offense do enough to wins games when the defense can just overwhelm opponents?

So far ALL of the freshman (except Gray who we knew would be a project) look capable of filling big supporting roles.

It is a deep team that is relentless on offense. All that is left is for the defense to become good enough to allow the offense to stretch out leads.

He will fill the Bigby-Williams role on this team. Rim protector that eats up rebounds and most of his baskets will be put backs. Which is exactly what you need from him. They have 6 other dudes on this team that score 20+ on any given night.
