Don’t count out Bradford as a starting guard. Brooks Kubena did his projections for the offense and defense in The Advocate today and has Bradford listed as a starter.
Coach Eaux said on more than one occasion that Bradford was the #1 Olineman on LSU's board that year. Was not meant as a knock on Kardell who was rated higher by the services but that Bradford is a big ole road grader.

Says something for Evans' athleticism and attitude for this to happen.
You will not find a more high-character kid on the team than Joseph Evans.

I’m all about this. Les miles didn’t move players around enough imo.
I remember les getting a lot of shite for recruiting guys specifically to move them later

He needs to either be LB or OLB/S hybrid.
Like Megatron?

Evans is a very intelligent young dude. He is capable of handling that aspect of the position.
this...Evans had a offer to throw the shot at Yale.
this offense...like most...thrives and starts with a tough, smart center.

Megatron:
Johnson had a rare combination of size (6 ft 5 in and 239 lbs), catching ability, speed (40-yard dash in 4.35 seconds), strength, leaping ability and body control.
Devonte Lee:
Listed at 6’1” and 223 pounds. Can he run in the 4.3 range?

Well nobody saw this coming

That doesn’t sound good for Charles Turner. He’s still young though so, keep hope alive
Cregg said this about Turner:
quote:
"He was always just a lean, athletic, tough kid. There's no doubt about his toughness," Cregg told Geaux247 at the National Championship. "That's what we love about him. That's his big thing, he's just got to keep living in that weight room, keep eating, getting where he needs to go, but he's got the athleticism and the mindset."

gotta admit, didn't see that one coming. I thought Evans would be a factor and in the 2 deep on the DL given he showed some flashes as a true freshman. He's def got the athleticism to play the position.
Benefits of getting Guillory, Roy, and retaining Shelvin and Apu. Gives us some flexibility.

I work with Joseph's dad...He told me this about a week ago but I wasn't gonna be the one coming on here with "sauces" until it became public.
Jo has never played center before, but is excited about the move. He wants to be on the field helping any way he can. I watched him on the O-Line in high school and I promise he won't disappoint in the blocking aspect. Very tough kid who loves being physical and aggressive. Also very intelligent, so I imagine he is capable of identifying defenses and helping QBs work with blitz pickups, coverages, and blocking schemes.
This is just me speculating, but I would have to imagine that our D-Line is looking good for next year if they are willing to move a young guy showing potential out of the rotation. Or the offensive line needed serious help, one of the two.

His snaps were real bad last year when he played. Not surprising

why was he rated the 8th best center in the country
Posted on 3/3/20 at 2:25 pm to bwallcubfan
if only they could get Devonta Lee to play safety
Posted on 3/3/20 at 2:44 pm to marcnbc
Bradford is going to be a problem at guard

Not to mention his football IQ. Center is no place for dummies.

The point is not that Lee resembles Calvin Johnson, but that you can't stereotype players by their build. If you did, then Johnson would not have been a receiver. Neither would have Eric Martin.

Lee's not fluid enough at that size to play S. In a 4-3 he's an OLB ala Harry Coleman. Don't know why people keep thinking he's gonna be a S. Stevens struggles in coverage at S and is a better, more fluid athlete than Lee.

This...watch some film from last year. The floating shotgun snaps killed the timing of everything.
