I believe that 100%. Houston has a LOT of LSU natives living there due to the oil field industry.

Heck yeah, but do you believe they've been donating to friggin Baylor? That's one of the most ridiculous things I've ever heard.

The LSU people specifically? Probably not. But there are a ton of Louisiana people in the Houston area in general. I can see it happening. And I can also see them supporting a Louisiana girl going back home to their home state.

LSU will probably be playing a season or two at the Raisin Canes Center in order to tear down the PMAC and build a new one.

I would say 2-3 years at least. Unless we can hire the contractors working on the Amazon Cortana project. We could get it done in one offseason the way they are working.

LSU has averaged at least 8500 fans per game all but 2 years in the past 20 years. Most of those years LSU bball was bad. Trent Johnson’s final year and Johnny Jones final year were the two exceptions and those teams were 2 of the worst years ever.

‘18-19 & ‘19-20 average home attendance were both each above 10,000. LSU shouldn’t have down years for the foreseeable future so I can’t see LSU building a basketball arena that seats less than 10,000. Ole Miss and Auburn built small arenas because getting 8000 is the max you’ll get over there. Lsu is not Ole Miss and Auburn.

If they broke ground today. There would not be an arena in three years

Commitment for an arena. Fund Raising for an arena. Arena under construction

Hopefully

I think we let Skip and the traditionalists be too involved in its design and their quest to make it like the old box...just none of the character and charm

the people are what made the Box what it was...

unfortunately you have to make a tradeoff in the atmosphere for the premium seating that drives revenue

Don't tell that to the new Dude or Arkansas's stadium.

One thing I hope gets done with a new arena are two things...

1 - incorporate a parking garage with a couple of hundred slots in it

2 - add a concourse facing Tiger Stadium with a couple of concessionaires that stay open all the time, not just on gamedays...

Fanbase age has nothing to do with the actual buildings and the vibes they give off.

Is that average paid attendance or average actual butts in seats?

Would it be the same cost or more expensive to completely gut the pmac and rebuild it. I don't mean gutting it in the sense that they did several years back. I mean completely gutted like what has been done to the Key Center in Seattle. Basically the only thing that wasn't touched was the exterior walls and the roof. I like that the PMAC is right next to Tiger Stadium. Would be cool for it to remain that way. Unless they were planning on imploding, and rebuilding on the same site.

We should go all in and make it as big as Rupp. Gymnastics fills the place up consistently as well.

I don’t think it should be tad pad small. I agree it should be slightly smaller, more compact, to create more noise—11,500-12,000 seats.

Fans age at least somewhat directly correlates to the stadium and atmosphere. There would be a whole bunch of college aged/young adults that don’t go to games now that would go every weekend if LSU had an area where they could grill and drink. Friday and Saturday night games would be packed with students

Why would a Louisiana native that attended lsu give money to Baylor. That's just stupidity.
