Looking to make a bet with my friend...

What should the over/under line be on JJ's passing yards this season?

1,500 would be a good starting point?

Per ESPN Insider:

quote:

We all thought Jordan Jefferson would have a big 2010 breakout season. This made sense, after all, he threw for 17 touchdowns and just seven interceptions as a sophomore in 2009. Jefferson struggled, however, with a passer rating of 112.9. It seems like he has put that season behind him, says the New Orleans Times-Picayne. "No less than Archie Manning said he noticed a big difference in Jefferson when he attended the Manning Passing Academy for the second consecutive summer. He said Jefferson's deep ball was as good as any of the other college attendees, including Heisman favorite Andrew Luck of Stanford. 'He looked more comfortable and confident," Manning said. 'He looked like a senior.'" This could be a big year for LSU, especially if Jefferson has returned to form. And it sounds like he has.

I think 2000 would be too much.

1500 would be a little better than last year

1800 would be better (this would probably be the best benchmark for a bet)

2000 would be great

2000 + would be awesome and we would probably be in the national championship

How many times did JJ pass for 200+ last year? Off the top of my head I am thinking once.

I'd take the over on 2,000 ... but I would've taken that last season also.

1800 yards. Threw for 2100 sophmore year, under 1500 junior year, he really should do no worse than 150 per game...

This seems reasonable but I wouldn't be shocked if he doesn't approach that number for the season.

You need to make sure you stipulate if it's the regular season only or all games. With the possiblity of a trip to Atlanta and as always a bowl game that can make a HUGE difference in the bet.

Very realistic. I was gonna say 2100.

Or loss of a starting job, right?

For sake of standardization on this thread, let's include postseason numbers.

2000. No less

If he can't throw for 2000 yards with the weapons we have already him, it shows that either he's had a very weak year or our running game is so dynamite he doesn't need to throw the ball.

Keep in mind, if he starts all, say, 13ish games, that's only asking he throw for around 150 yards/game. Even Herb Tyler averaged that with guys like Faulk and Cecil and Rondell hogging up 2/3 of the snaps.
