I thinknwere aware that we can’t compare pitchers to Skenes
but we fail to realize we can’t compare 1st basemen to Tre Morgan.
Jones is a very good 1st basemen
Morgan would be a middle infielder if he was right handed.

Jones is solid but Morgan was unlike any 1B I've ever seen. Not a knock on Jones by any means, but Morgan was unreal.

Man, Jones has improved significantly both prior seasons, he will continue to improve in all facets of the game this season. There is a reason he decided to come back to LSU and I hope he kills it this season and gets paid significantly more than he was offered in the draft.

Jones' glove has been a pleasant surprise. But I agree with Srbtiger06, Tre is the best glove at 1B I've ever seen at any level (and I'm old).

I'm just glad someone actually referred to him by his given name for a change. Everyone insists on calling him Bear constantly to the point of overdoing it.

Tre was 1 of 1. Jones has been better than anyone expected. He has been a very good to great 1B since last year. Is he Tre? Hell no but he has been a very good defensive 1B and better than we could have hoped and better than anyone expected.

He is! He’s has gotten a lot more disciplined at the plate. He had some great at bats last night and has looked great so far this season.

I'd say he is better than very good now but still not on the elite level Morgan was, which is nothing to be ashamed of. Tre is the best fielding first baseman I think I have ever seen.
