Preseason... I think that's fair. Maybe 11-12 is better

Rothstein is one of the best imo

Isn't it great to see LSU in the top 25 of a preseason basketball poll. What will be even better is when we are ranked for an entire season and some of it in the top ten!

Javonte Smart, Skylar Mays, and James Bishop off the bench.

JA has his best game as starting PG against tenn

Ranking seems too high. We have one player over 6’8 and he’s skinny as frick.

really puts some perspective on last season. the losses were disappointing but, the in the end, the tigers were a darn good team and beat some darn good teams. it was a fun, memorable season from beginning to end

two words. will wade.

2. Louisville
good, yes. really good, maybe. #2, highly highly doubtful

quote:

6. Maryland
12. SHU
nah. solid squads but they're not in THIS stratosphere

quote:

15. Memphis
on paper, maybe. in reality, tbd. probably a bit too high.

quote:

16. FSU
perhaps too low

quote:

17. Arizona
might want to put an asterisk next to this one.

quote:

18. Florida
hmm. this is probably a bit too high. they have some pieces coming back but sweet 16 level?

yeah, we've seen this movie before. maybe it will be different this time. they have the roster to be here for sure.

noticeably absent: auburn, tenn.

IMO, we aren't a Top 15 team right now. Maybe fringe Top 25, we have got to finish with at least 1 more impact player. Specifically a big.

I think that’s quite fair. Last season was our first in a good while making the tourney and seeing success. It’s our job to prove we can do it consistently. I do believe we can.

It's too early, because we're still a man short of our full playing rotation.

Let Wade sign another big man and let's see if the guy is any good, and then we'll know if they're really #14.

Get a guy who can give you a little bit of what Kavell gave you last year, and this might well be a Top 10 team.

I'll say this, though - Kentucky is way too high at #4.

The only way that pans out is if Maxey is capable of throwing in 20 points a game.

Am I missing Auburn? Aren't they a popular pick to challenge in the SEC this year?

The two PGs (Smart and Mays) are long and have shown that they can basically take anyone to the rim regardless of size. Williams is 6'7 and solid, but plays taller. Days is 6'7 and I think will be great with his shooting ability. Taylor is 6'6 but can jump out of this world. And then there is Watford who is a 5* 6'8 forward who Wade said is the best player he has recruited in his eyes. Also, Wade said Cooper (who is a 6'9 forward) is an "assassin" as a shooter and said he almost pulled the trigger on playing him last year in January because he started looking so good in practice.

They probably need a true big to be able to beat the best of the best in the tourney, but with their chemistry from playing together last year and new talent coming in, I expect them to be really good even if they don't land a true big. It will probably take a little while to adjust to not having Waters though.

I believe Okeke and Harper stayed in the draft. Brown graduated. That's a ton of production to replace
