This is untrue. Brennan himself admitted he decided to come back to LSU when he got a call a week ago monday from Kelly.

If Brennan cannot beat out a true freshman and a red shirt freshman then he doesn’t even belong on the field. I assure you he will be the starting quarterback in 2022.

From Texas A&M insider. Jake did not want to go to LSU so Max followed. Max likely knew the starting job at LSU was not a guarantee.
