Without a doubt. Curley right behind him followed by Trent Johnson.

Press Maravich and Trent Johnson were poorer HC's at LSU in MBB than JJ was.

Archer was worse and so was Hallman. And DiNardo was worse as a HC at LSU.

Curley Hallman says hi.

This can not be more accurate. The guy has a hard time keeping high school jobs. Nobody knew Bret Farve was an all world QB, but damn he beat Bama and got LSU to hire Hallmann.

I think Trent was the worst, but Johnny may have to vacate a lot of those 90 wins so he may go down as the worst statistically.

I don't see this.

DiNardo was the best FB coach for LSU since Ansparger. Archer should not have been promoted to HC and easily Hallman was terrible. Joe Dean was a penny pinching no forward thought AD, but from his hires, DiNardo was the most successful. It wasn't until DiNardo had some success that he got too controlling and ruined anything he had going. LSU was ranked #7 going into the 1998 season.

As for basketball, CJJ was terrible, at least Trent had some Xs and Os to him. I wasn't around for Press days, but I think that was all about Pistol showcase. Dale coaching for 25 years limits the scope to prior Dale and post-Dale. Post-Dale, Brady was best, then tossup for CJJ and Trent. Do you want a guy that may be able to coach but not recruit or a guy that may be able to recruit but not coach?

Fargas has no place on that list. She is actually a very good coach from a game day perspective. She has had recruiting challenges but that seems to be better as well. Do you remember the coach before her?

Johnny Jones isn't even the worse basketball coach in LSU history.

I can tell you stories of coaches long ago:

Harry Rabenhorst was a good coach, but he did play some players that he could remember their name over others with more talent, that comes from a player at the time of Bob. He was a freshmen around 1951-2 and transferred to the track team as harry could not remember his name, when he was a sr. on the track team harry saw him at practice and ask the coach Al who he was and he should play basketball, the track coach had to tell Harry he was on your team a few years ago.

But worse basketball coaches:
Frank Truitt
Jay McCreary (good guy, remembered for the Hossier thing, but fair at best coach)
"Moon" Ducote long ago in age when near anyone could come n and coach.

Les Miles will always be the worst coach in LSU history to me. I've never seen a coach more frightened of Nick Saban as Les was.
