God. F*cking. Dammit.

I wanted to see him continue to play well. I wanted to see him rock the #22 for the rest of the season!

F*ck!!

Hate that for him.

Am I the only one who thinks it's crazy for these kids not to wear knee pads??? He's got a history of ACL tears and still has his fb pants hiked up to his thighs w/ no knee protection? WTH.

Did he redshirt in 2019?

Because if so, he can come back next year.

How many degrees does he have?

fricking tragedy man. At least he can go out knowing he left it all on the field in his last game.

I really hate this. NFL potential, my guy just can’t catch a break.

This feels as shitty as what happened to Chad Jones.

Torn ACLs usually don't involve a helmet or shoulder pads to the knee. It's by and large a non-contact injury.

People keep saying "rest of the season". Is this the end of his career? Or does he get some sort of injury red shirt?

It’s theoretically possible that he can receive an injury redshirt for this year. This would have been his final year of eligibility (1 RS + 4 active) otherwise, and there’s plenty of precedent for guys getting a 6th year with a medical RS.

In his case it would technically be a 7th year because 2020 didn’t count, but I don’t think that should work against him for the purposes of a medical redshirt.

The real questions to me are really:
1) Is he able to (physically and mentally) make the comeback from another ACL injury or does he just move on?
2) Does he try to go the UDFA route and see if he can make a squad instead of risking further injury at the college level?

It seems to me that (assuming he intends to keep playing) it would make more sense to come back and try to get a full season of tape in. Especially with NIL, and with revenue sharing coming next year. But idk. Even if he only makes a practice squad in the NFL, that’s still like $225k/year.

fournette junior?

He doesn’t need to be Fournette but he has to be better than 5 carries for 14 yards.

I didn’t see anybody say this.

Said what? He was clearly not 100%, as evidenced by his lack of speed. Whether it was mental or not is up for debate, but he was limited.

Being medically cleared as healthy is not the same as being 100% ready. Practicing in full also does not, especially for someone coming off a major knee injury.

Did we watch the same game? Dude was very clearly favoring his leg and was not mentally there yet. I am sure he had some physical limitations like tightness, etc.

Who cares what the injury report says.
