Why would he?

Because there's always something to improve upon. Is that what you want to hear from a guy that led an offense that was in the 100s for the better part of the season?

Coach Ensminger also showed the ability to adapt to his players except for the Bama game (which is all most people bitching care about anyway.)

Yeah well that game is kinda important. He's been blanked in both of his games as OC and the road to the SEC championship goes through them.

Not sure why people would downvote this post. Y’all have been begging for someone young and hungry to be involved on offense. Should kill it, and if he’s good, will probably take over as OC

Orgeron is making decisions to move the LSU program forward.

I’m satisfied with this move. We’ll have to see if it works out, but it looks like a great move on paper.

It did improve throughout the season. He was happy with the improvement. He never said it couldn't improve further; hence the new hire.

I agree. But I'm not so sure these players aren't in their own heads about that game at this point. I'm willing to give it one more year.

New rules, chief. They were rarely a factor anywhere

Simply pointing out that if he did indeed “kill it”, that area of ST wasn’t a factor.

Kickoffs

Again, how did opponents starting field position change from the previous regime?

Similar to Burrow, Player was already developed and ready day 1. He contacted LSU, not the other way around. Like I akways say, they still get credit for pulling the trigger and offering the spot.

punting, punt coverage, k/o coverage

Were these a problem before McMahon arrived to “kill it”?

What were the numbers before and after his arrival?

He’s been a solid fill in.

Aside from Tracy, ST haven’t swung games for us, which would qualify as “killing it” imo.

Because you're heavily biased.
Most of us rational types are pleased with the STs overall

Someone please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong here. Wasn't the kickoff through the endzone much more frequent this year while the kick out of bounds way down? Or am I not remembering correctly?

Absolutely... Kicking Game was lights out.

I think Stingley will help tremendously in the return game

Take it up with Tracy.

He said in an interview on SECN before the UGA game that he took it upon himself to reach out to LSU first.

Most were touchbacks or fair catches, which was a change for 2018

You're so full of shite. Quit being such a bitch today.

But the call from LSU special teams coordinator Greg McMahon did surprise him a tad late last season when he was shopping around for a college and was considering Oklahoma State.

"I was sittin' in my dorm room," he said. "The phone rings. 'Hey, this is Coach McMahon from LSU.'"

And Tracy's mind went blank, like it does before he kicks a field goal.

"I was trying to think of any other LSUs I knew of, because I couldn't believe it," he said.

I don't like the fair catch rule, but it's to slow the injury rate.

Might as well just get rid of kickoffs if they're going to keep going this direction

I hate the fair catch rule as well. I do like the touchbacks and the not kicking out of bounds. That always made me livid.

He called and sent a tape out to many schools.

Him being surprised when they called him back doesn’t change that.

I’m sure someone can find the video.

I'm just confused as to why everyone on this thread is rejoicing so much. I mean this guy is only 28 years old, he played/coached at the collegiate juggernaut of William & Mary, was a graduate assistant at Penn St. for 2 years

So the fact that a Super Bowl winning coach who’s known for his offense trusted this guy with gameplanning etc etc and implemented those plans into NFL games isn’t enough for you?

Guess what....that just means there’s literally no one you’d be happy with being hired.
