You seem down because he played at William and Mary, hell, Nick Saban graduated from big bad Kent State and look how that turned out. Not saying this guy is on his level, just saying you don't have to be a coach that played at a big time school to be a good coach.

Good point. Case in point. Where did Sean Payton play? Where did Aranda play?

When you figure out how recruiting works then we can focus on this

that's even better in that we got our best players at our positions of greatest need (CB and RB).

Not just "our" best players, they are "THE" best players at their positions.

Derek Stingley #1 CB in the nation and 3rd rated player overall. Highest rated CB ever by 24/7.

John Emery #1 RB in the nation and 11th rated player overall in the 24/7 rankings.

Not to mention:
Tyrion Davis #6 RB in the 24/7 ratings.

Your general football knowledge seems on par with your pitiful recruiting knowledge.

Are you also trying to figure out why all college and pro football teams have more than one coach? Why does a head coach need all those assistants?

How many big time players have been good coaches? College or NFL

One of the ranter's favorite coaches - Mike Leach (the Pirate) never played football. Guess he should never be mentioned on this board as a possible HC or OC again.

Top 10 College Football Head Coaches Who Never Played

Joe Gibbs a great coach for the RedSkins never played college/NFL football. (Did star at high school football though)

Lots of coaches never played pro, including Bill Belichick.

Top 5 College Football Coaches Who Never Played In College
5) Sonny Dykes, Cal Golden Bears
4) Mike Leach, Washington State Cougars
3) Paul Johnson, Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets
2) David Cutcliffe, Duke Blue Devils
1) Hugh Freeze, Ole Miss Rebels

Hugh Freeze is another coach the ranter's should never mention again.

You don’t have to go into your “ranter” rhetoric to make your point. It severely detracts from discussion

Back on point, hockey is the only sport I can think of with successful coaches who were big time players. It’s a different way of life and mentality.

I'll agree the return games struggled but I think it had more to do with the wrong personnel as the returners.

LSU was 13th nationally in average kickoff return yardage

Special teams was phenomenal this year. Big facts

Don't mistake my comments, I think the special teams were overall alot better(especially FG'S, KO's and punting). I think better choices in personnel (especially PR) would have netted better results.

This is hilarious coming from a guy who literally knows almost nothing about football. I misspoke on one post and you cheerios that have been regularly shamed all year keep going back to that because you have nothing else. If people think that any fan doesnt know Feb 6th is NSD that's pretty amazing. What you didnt seem to understand is that Early Signing Day results in the vast majority of recruits being off the table well before NSD.

Who was Matt Canadas passing game coordinator?

Are you really going to sit here and pretend that every school that pays their OC 800k also pays someone else to coordinate the passing game?

Or are you going to act like a complete moron and not see the reference to costs and budget? How having a passing game coordinator makes it more difficult financially to hire another coach?

Special. Very special.

The biggest question is whether Orgeron let's him run his offense. Ed has meddled before when the offense was anything but an Ensminger conservative approach.

Has Orgeron changed? If he hasn't changed, if he won't give control to a more progressive offensive mind, nothing else matters. Hire Briles or Sean Payton or Lincoln Riley. Absolutely nothing will change unless Orgeron backs off. We won't know anything at all about that until next year

Actually it's a reasonable stance. He's saying let's wait for the results to judge him. He could've worded it a little differently to avoid the ire of the pumping contingent I suppose.
