If the offense continues to dazzle and the Joe Brady legend grows, he's going to be a super hot commodity with other teams beating down his door. I'm not sure what O's tentative game plan is with Brady and Ensminger's future, but it may need to be fast-tracked.

I'm looking forward to the announcement, hopefully sooner than later, that Brady will be officially taking over as OC next year. Otherwise, O and Woodward should give him an extension, raise, and co-OC job title.

Just FYI- Brady is currently under a three-year, $400,000/yr deal. For comparison, Sullivan was making $450,000. E is making $800,000.

I think that is the plan, I don't think E really ever wanted the job that coach O kinda forced it on him.

At the very least he will be Co-OC

I agree. May be time soon though to get it in writing so it's official.

Frick that. He's already better than Ensminger's ever been. He deserves the job all by himself.

He will be LSUs next OC.

Don’t worry.

was it you or Damone that was endlessly complaining about the decision to let him call plays over this summer?

Probably Damone.

O took a bit of a chance on him, and it’s paying dividends. This is his trial period and I expect he’ll be OC next year.

Not worried about O wanting to go in that direction. Am concerned that O is so loyal to E that he may want to stick around another year and Brady gets an OC offer that he can't refuse vs. waiting for the job here.

I do think there is a chance that f we have success this season O views it as a result of the relationship between E and Brady and wants to keep everything the same. Other than that I think Brady will be OC next year.

My opinion was that they just need to give him the damn job from the beginning and not have so many moving parts.

Pretty sure Ensminger is still the one calling plays, unless I missed something. That doesn't mean Brady hasn't had and/or won't continue to have a huge impact on our offensive identity.

If the offense continues to flourish and look the way it did week 1, I think everyone agrees w your assessment.

That said, let the year play out. If it plays out for the offense the way everybody thinks/hopes it will, then the writing will be on the wall for E. At that point, I have little doubt O will pull the trigger and giving him full control of the offense. Especially if he gets along well with O, unlike Canada.....

Well, I'm not going to say I didn't have doubts about Brady. I did and I was wrong.
The guy is awesome.

That said, I believe that if they're going to make a move towards him that you let him run it without interference.

Joe Brady is choosing a play, giving it to Ensminger. And then Ensminger decides if he wants to run it or not. If I were Ensminger I would shut my mouth, make money, and let Brady do the work.

That'd be the best idea. E didnt take the job at first, and was hesitant to take the job the second go round.
I wouldnt be surprised if Brady took over by mid season.

And then what do you would think would happen in that situation. O and Woodward will just sit there and say “ok well, thanks for your services. See ya later!”. Or, theyll sit down and renegotiate and find common ground to retain him? Let’s let a full season play out before we start throwing the bank at any coach no matter how promising it looks.
