Say it ain’t so Joe!

school can claim after a player transfers, especially in a situation like former Ohio State quarterback Joe Burrow. Even though Burrow won a national championship and Heisman Trophy with LSU, fans are divided on who can claim the Cincinnati Bengal star. Burrow put an end to some of the debate. A viral clip of him stating “I’m still a Buckeye” has been circulating Twitter. Not only did the Athens native say Ohio State can claim him as one of their NFL alumni, he still has a relationship with head coach Ryan Day, quarterback coach Corey Dennis, strength coach Mickey Marotti and “all those guys.”

He’s also still a Tiger. He just wanted to throw an OSU fan a bone. They should have something to feel good about.

It’s where the kid graduated from. I mean of course he can claim that. Doesn’t take away the fact that he’s also a Tiger.

He plays for Cincinnati, what else would he say? He definitely considers himself more a Tiger than a Buckeye.

Poor OSU desperately needs anything they can get when it comes to claiming a successful NFL QB.

Who cares? He won LSU a National Championship-Forever grateful

He grew up there, plays there, and wanted to be their starter.
I'm glad we got him and the NC.
Hope he adds a Super Bowl ring to his collection of hardware.

He is a buckeye, he's also a tiger. He has degrees from both. We got the best of him but it's completely reasonable for him to claim to be a buckeye and a tiger. If you had degrees from both you would say the same.

Meh. Just Ohio State trying to tie themselves to the new Tom Brady.

He lives and plays in Ohio and he graduated from Ohio St. Ohio St still has staff members there from when he was on the team. He doesn’t have any relationships with people at LSU because after coach O was fired, Brian Kelly cleaned house. I know he is thankful for both Ohio St and LSU.

No problem with what he’s saying because he’s talking about more than football….
But LSU gave him a chance along with two future pro bowl pass catchers. Everything meaningful that he accomplished in college was done while wearing purple and gold.
