Didn't they lose money with the bowl game?

I don't think so. I think all bowl money is 100% shared with all SEC schools.

LSU Coaches use the "insiders" like Scike to put their message across just like Scike uses them for his own credibility. So if Scike is correct then that means Miles wants him to know this info to push Alleva into a corner for leverage for whomever they really want. Which I am going to assume is Grimes.

I thought Scike was pretty much cut off from the coaching staff. If this info would have came from Ponamsky then I would agree with you. He's been the insider mouthpiece for the staff for a while.

It's more likely Scike is just regurgitating a rumor with no real substance.

Ponamsky said the day before Stud was fired. That he would be SHOCKED if a change was made and that there was no way it would happen.

Then it did.

Yea, our insiders have absolutely been dog shite lately. I don't trust anything ANY of them say. I especially don't believe the Collins rumors right now.

As far as insiders go, Jimmy D. has been the most consistent and best one this year. He needs to be promoted. Jimmy seems to know something about the offensive line coach LSU is targeting too. He's been a machine in recruiting.

I'm not saying he knows everything going on with the program, just that when he does pass on information it's usually something the staff wants passed along.

Scike on the other hand is known for reporting crazy rumors. Jerry Rice as WR coach...

I agree, I think Derek has the best connections with the staff, just this year all our insiders seem like outsiders.

I don't think money is an issue, but I do believe Alleva needs to go. My biggest reason is Miles' buyout, we may not want to fire him, but we should have that option. Next is Caldwell, I know it is the market, but she was not a proven coach, and UCLA was not paying her enough to justify the bump in her salary. Then there is the parking, and gameday issues, etc. Lastly I am still upset how he handled the Duke thing, so yeah we can get rid of Alleva, but not for this.

First of all I admit that I have no clue as to what goes in in the inner circle of the LSU attletic department.

1.Miles' buyout; was that solely Alleva's doing or did the BOS have to approve it? If you are chapped at that and you appear to be, then shouldn't in all honesty spread the blame around?

2.If LSU had hired someone else for a lower salary than Caldwell's wouldn't you have come in here bitching about another low ball hire?

3.Parking, traffic, etc seem to be reasonably laid at Alleva's door. I am assuming here that you attend every home game.

4. Apparently the Duke thing was considered in Alleva's hiring, so hanging on to the butt hurt over it is foolish.

Gave a great day.

1. The BOS takes Alleva's recommendation so they are normally a rubber stamp and may have an issue intially, but the AD usually gets what he wants. See the last raise in ticket prices.

2. How do you decide this? I am not happy with Cladwell's hire, because she didn't have the resume or accomplishments for the LSU job and salary. I really would not have cared if they paid somene to be the Women's Basketballcoach a salary less than the Men's baseball coach. One makes money;one doesn't.

And yeah, as the Duke accuser is currently convicted of murder. I think he botched that issue totally and he has not changed my opinion. So I was not in favor of the hiring of Alleva.

Ponamsky is basically a puppet for the coaching staff/football ops building.

he pulled the same crap with a new OC last year. I wish they'd take him off the show really

No kidding, his opinion on everything is pretty predictable. If ott or hanny makes a comment, here comes derek to "play devils advocate" as he calls it.

it's one thing if he wants to play the sunshine pumper role, that's fine (even though his reasons for doing it aren't pure). But when he straight up lies to listeners it pisses me off, if you can't speak on it then don't say anything.

This is a problem with the state constitution not Jindal...granted he made more cuts, but that was because it's statutorily demanded that higher ed get the first budget cut.

So Jindal can't ammend the constitution? He instead gave LSU and Louisiana the worst state budget cuts in the United States?

The Stelly Tax Act greatly helped LSU and he eliminated that money coming in as well.

People need to look at what Bama has done the past 4-5 years. Their recruiting budget is 3x as LSU's and amazing and growing facilities.

Alleva needs to be aggressive not make cuts because of salary.

who better to use for a potentially controversial opinion that puts pressure on your boss than a guy "on the outs" with your program. Especially a guy that needs to be thrown a bone after the beating they are taking on the #5/5 situation

i have no idea, just saying
