The shear fact that Joe and staff should be striving for the highest achievements and not so worried about the talking head pundits. This statement continues to enlighten us as to how standard he is at his job and should worry each and everyone of us.

In a vacuum, sure. It isn't a disaster. Then you realize Joe sold the fanbase an improvement from 9 wins, a young offensive-minded head coach, and an exciting brand of offensive football. So far, he hasn't delivered on a single promise of the coaching search.

What a ducking idiotic thing for an athletic director to say. ALLEVA IS A CLOWN.

frick the experts. They’re wrong every year. The fans expect more out of this program than Joe Alleva. Alleva’s expectations are dictated by experts. What a joke of an AD.

Not a soul has said it’s an awful record. It’s also not a great record. It is, however, a record which was deemed wholly insufficient for our program’s standards just a few short years ago.

Hey, Joe. How 'bout you work on getting me closer than Gonzales for a free tail gaiting spot.

We once again stayed home on championship weekend and have yet to make the playoffs. Not to mention the annual b-hole gaping we receive from Nick Saban.

You hired Orgeron to compete for championships.

He's gone 18-7, and the last two bama scores have been 24-10 and 29-0.

That's not competing for championships, Joe.

9-3 in 2015 put a coach standing on one leg for the next season, but 3 yrs later 9-3 is a “great” yr.

It seems to me how the season gets described by Joe depends on who hired the coach.

What’s Joes expectation of LSU football?

To make money. As long as LSU football is making money, Joe doesn’t care if we go undefeated and win the national championship by 200 or if we lose every game by 300.

Nice Joe! We should start a go fund me to pay these "experts" to predict 12-0 next year for LSU.

Then when we go 8-4 or 9-3 with an easy schedule it will be a "great" season because we dealt with a lot of youth!!

I know he isn’t well liked, and for good reason, but this program certainly exceeded realistic expectations this year.

The issue is it ignores why the expectations were so low in the first place. The program had a ton of disorder over the last two years. The fact that we overcame it to an extent this year doesn't mean it is a good idea to run a shitshow program.

If LSU wins the bowl game the season will be more successful than last season. If they lose, it will be a disappointment just as last year was.

What happened to preseason expectations being meaningless?

You know, "block out the noise" and "frick dem"?

This is such a dumb statement given that a big part of why the experts "expected" worse is O and E.

I mean, this is like choosing your #5-8 runners to run in the 4x100 and then acting like your choice to not run your top guys is OK cause you did "better than you were expected" to.

Not really. With the talent that LSU brings in every year, LSU should expect no less than 10 wins every regular season with 11-1 happening often and 12-0 happening every 5 or 6 years.
