dont leave out the 2 misfit million $ basketball coaches that he left in tact that everyone outside of LSU including the national media had both of those coaches heads on a stick at the end of the season. yet, alleva comes out and quells all of the rumors about Jones and Caldwell reassuring everyone that they will both be back....hmmm, i wonder what prompted that decision vs how he held Miles to a higher standard after winning 9 and 10 games a year ? I am no miles fan but it is fair to compare the treatment so that leaves me to one conclusion as to the difference and refute me all that you want but i am chalking it up as "skin color". Bottom line, Alleva needs to pack his chit and go back to Duke where Scandals are a plenty. he would fit right in

Examples of dishonesty?
They have to believe there was "dishonesty" because they cant come to terms with the fact the AD was doing his job and getting LSU a better football coach.
But for a big money, big mouth money man it would have happened.

I haven't read this thread, and I have no dislike or hatred for Joe Alleva, but it will look pretty bad on Alleva if Johnny Jones has another shite show of a season.

Is the reason related to more concerts at halftime of games like they tried to schedule last year?
If so that might be a viable reason.
If not you can forget about the LSU band ever playing on field on road again. But then again with band director fiasco, the budget might be taken away for most road trips for full band.
Either way, if more concerts was the reason why not say that in release.

Alleva could stay at LSU for a thousand centuries and not cause half the embarrassment Miles did in the title game against bama.
Embarassed for playing in the title game? Get the frick out of here.
News flash, few teams have lost by a lot more since then. Including the beloved Jimbo my team quits Fisher.

Firings in this order
F. King
J. Alleva
J. Jones
N. Caldwell
CPM (just think he has topped out)
The last 3 are off topic but they require new blood and improvement for all 3.

Alleva is an idiot who brings shame to the university and needs to be fired now !!!!!
There may or may not be some truth to this statement. However, the band thing has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with it.
I doubt the nation is waiting with bated breath to find out whether opposing teams can take the field in Tiger Stadium during half-time shows. its just a non-issue.
Over-react much? nobody cares therefore this is not an embarrassing situation.

How do you propose one go about getting Alleva fired? And BTW I agree he needs to go !!

I'm also not a fan of Joe Alleva. I don't think he's right for the LSU job anymore. However, can somebody explain to me the downfalls of F King Alexander. And I don't want any subjective comments like "he's a weasel" or "he's power hungry". I want concrete decisions that we know for a fact that he's made that have harmed the university. I'm not trying to defend anybody, I'm just trying to come to a reasonable decision about how I feel about who's at the helm of my university.

I am no fan of Alleva, either, but it appears to me that he tried to fire Miles last fall and hire Fisher, when the BOS and F. King intervened.
Folks can argue either side of the miles firing, but F. King and the BOS undercut Alleva on that issue, citing the appearances or "optics" of spending a lot of money to make a change which involves the expenditure of a lot of (probably private) money.
In short, F. King thought the firing might make HIM look bad to the legislature. That was cowardly and not a good reason to undercut the AD.
Frankly, I don't know that Alleva has any real authority to make any significant changes without F. King second guessing how it makes him look.

King and Alleva have repeatedly embarrassed the University. How much is enough? How much embarrassment will the Board of Supervisors take? It's getting ridiculous.

The BOS is part of the problem, not the solution.
It is a bunch of political hacks chosen by virtue of their political contributions to the successful candidates for Governor.
Their primary motivation is showing off their great seats at LSU home games.
we need a serious group of folks to sit on that body. Big checking accounts and a corresponding ego is not sufficient.

Well he answers to F King, so I think F King should be fired first.
