You could prob say Tommy white should not be playing 3B.

You could definitely say this. Tommy might be the worst defensive player on the team along with Travinski.

Also, not necessarily a direct Jay problem, but his pitching coach hasn’t impressed.

Tommy’s worse. Hopefully he can play 1B.

His pitching coach has 1.5 pitchers that he can rely on to consistently throw strikes and get outs.

I think we ought to maybe pump the brakes on running him out of town.

but I don’t see teams running out a better overall lineup/defense very often.

Then why are we losing to bottom of league teams at the end of the 2nd season.
Is there a freshman on the team that matched, Crews, Morgan, Dugas, or Milazzo freshman performance?

You don’t have to trade offense for defense at lsu.

And I never said the team wasn’t talented. I’m also sure id feel a lot better about it if the staff was whole. But it still doesn’t have to be either/or.

You often do if you want 8 of them.

Regardless, I like what Jay’s done in his two recruiting/transfer classes.

Good point. I'm scratching my head at why so many here think we're playing so well and getting to Omaha is just a formality.

Its jay’s 2nd year. I like the trend up. But yeah, we need some more athleticism next year.

Why did we beat the best in the league to start the season if we’re not more talented than most?

Dugas didn’t do diddly squat until he was a junior. Crews doesn’t make campus without Covid. Milazzo hit .186 in the best of his first two seasons.

Morgan was simply a beast his freshman year. We don’t have a player of his caliber this year. A few were supposed to be, but haven’t panned out early.

What’s the last year we ran out 8 solid hitters and defenders?

Who thinks that?

There is a middle ground between the sky is falling after every bad AB, loss, run given up, etc. and blind optimism that nothing is wrong and pencil us into Omaha.

I see the posters that I agree with here having the same thought going into the SECT and what the goal/strategy was. Certainly you don't try to lose or go 3/20 RISP, but it's not win or the season is over scenario.

That is upcoming and why you try to use the SECT as more of a sandbox to get as many players an opportunity and see how they perform heading into the real postseason.

Lesley won a Natty with Sabans recruits…and O won a Natty with….also Sabans recruits…am I doing this right?

Bunch of fricking pussies…the postseason starts next weekend, call me stupid but I’ll reserve my judgement on how this season ends, not how it started or how a few flute players think the season should go. GDT’s.
