Jim Nikel said on the Jordy Hultberg show that he was at the Heisman trophy presentation sitting at the end of the front row. During the breaks, the assistant coaches for LSU would Facetime recruits inside the Heisman room showing them everything inside and letting them know this could be them. He said the place was electric inside there, especially during breaks. This is what will keep LSU on top for years. This insane dedication to do whatever it takes to be on top is incredible to watch.

It sucks that the 2019-2020 season has to come to an end (hopefully by winning a championship, of course). In any event, this has been the most memorable season, in part because of the many stories like these.

Ed O has done a masterful job in all the everyday aspects of running the program. He literally has hit every note right with the way we should handle off the field type program stuff. His changes to the days of the week and things like that is great. He has had the social media people dropping awesome videos and graphics all the time. He has turned our sideline into vintage 2000 usc star power.

I loved the post bama stuff that leaked, the having players at mid field, running to their recruits and even Kary filming the roll tide what frick you

I mean, that’s recruiting. You’re trying to convince the most athletic teenagers, who are being courted by many other snakes(coaches) to come play for you. If Ryan Day and Lincoln Riley weren’t on the phone with their top QB targets, they’re doing it wrong.

This is what needs to be done and kudos to O and crew for doing this.

Side note, 'he who shall not be named' was known to do similar things while visiting the white house after winning a NC.

*** "was" as in past tense.

O has said and keeps saying were just getting started!
I know this seems a little absurd considering the season were having BUT this kind of activity is working to fulfill this promise.

Right, Day and Riley could have been on the phone telling recruits "one day you can sit here all day to watch the guy from LSU win...." Poor Hurts and Young, they had to travel all over the country just to be Joe's audience.

Reminds me of Devin White's draft day selection, when O took the time to call Jacquelin Roy from the draft. (Roy is expected to sign this Wednesday.)

This is what I underestimated in Ed Orgeron. There is a famous story of a Prussian general, Blucher, who hated Napoleon with his every fiber. At the Battle of Waterloo, Napoleon faced Wellington’s huge army with his own. Blucher was an afterthought, because no one believed this 72 year old could lead his small army on muddy roads and through thick forests to the battlefield. But Blucher’s desire was so strong he did just that, and just in time.

Orgeron reminds me of that old Prussian. I never foresaw how his intense desire would sweep everything in front of him. It’s a sight to behold.

Most national recruiting analysts say that the biggest recruiting bounce comes the following season, as the majority of those classes are not really committed. This year's class, for the most part, has been sewed up prior to the last 3 - weeks. i.e. the best is yet to come, which Coach O has been saying.

I figured this was going on but was curious as to who O and company would be calling. I bet those recruits were going crazy getting called in that setting.
