I am RARELY the refs and announcers hate us kind of LSU fan.
However, as an LSU basketball fan since 1978, I am POSITIVE we have gotten screwed throughout the years in our tournament seeding. I can't recall ONE year where we got the benefit of the doubt in seeding.
There has to be bias against us by the NCAA, most likely from Dale always at their throats, and the Wade fiasco.

The worst was an 8 seed in 2009. Won the SEC, sure it was a down year, but an 8? Had to play a juggernaut UNC team in the second round and played them closer than anyone else all tournament.
Bracket matrix has LSU in on 96 of 100 sites with an average seed of 9.75, and all the ones without LSU were last updated before the UT win.

2003 vs Purdue was awful too

Agreed. This is what I'm hoping for. The schedule sets up very nicely for us to move up.
@ Ole Miss
Auburn
@ Georgia
@ Arkansas
Vanderbilt
Gonna have a home game against Florida or Mizzou after Vandy as well

if we get hot and sweep that schedule some 2 seed is going to be real pissed when we are the 7

27 net. We're a 8 or 9. Finish 4-1 and win a conference tournament game and we'll be a solid 6. Possibly higher depending who we beat in the tournament and if we beat Arkansas at their place.

Oh god, anyone but the Gonzaga bracket as an 8/9 seed please

I think in 2015 I was worried about even getting in the tourney cause we lost to a bad Tennessee team to end the regular season and then a bad Auburn team in our first SECT game. Some analysts did not even have us in. And we got a 9 seed. Is that the year you refer too?
Otherwise I agree, we've gotten some poor seeds along the way. 2009 after we won the SEC by 3 games and got a 9 seed is one I can remember vividly.

8 seed but the point stands. I thought we had 2 seed potential 2 years ago but got the 3

Yeah I agree, winning the SEC outright and beating Kentucky at Rupp and Tennessee as well, I thought that earned a 2 seed, but that was definitely politics media driven WW hate.

This was by no means a scientific analysis of our seeding history. Just my memory of time after time when we made it, it seems we where always given a seed too low. Shaq fighting with Carlos groves in the SEC tournament cost us 2-3 seeds back in 1991 I believe.
If you found an odd year where we got the benefit of the doubt, congrats. It rarely happens for LSU. We did get the 1 seed back in 1981, so there might be 2 times we were seeded correctly or even given a break.

Agreed. The 2015 was a good surprise at 9.
The biggest slap in the face was the 2009 team getting a 9 seed after winning the SEC comfortably. The SEC was down that year but that team was solid. We played UNC arguably better than anyone in that tournament, had a 2nd half lead, but couldn’t hold on. I always thought a win there or a better seed and that team could have made a run. Marcus Thornton was playing as good as any guard in the country that year too.

Maybe because they aren't very good?

Agreed...maybe even as high as a 5, but a lot would probably have to go right for that.
TODAY, it seems the consensus is LSU is somewhere in the range of "best" 1-2 NINE seeds to "worst" 1-2 EIGHT seeds. If they can notch another Q1 win at Ole Miss, then I think they will be firmly on the 8 line with some 7 consideration as that would be their 4th Q1 win. In comparison, Missouri is still getting a lot of love because they have 5 Q1 wins...even though their NET plummeted this week with two losses. Mizzou also has the 6th ranked SOS.
LSU has a very good SOS at the moment (13th). A win at OM would not only give them their 4th Q1 win, but also put them above .500 in games away from home.

Don't be so naïve. I would be willing to bet more than one of Pat Forde's unnamed sources in his bevy of hit pieces was on the tournament selection committee in addition to Cal of course.

In a play-in game. That is beyond ridiculou
Never can understand why people get so worked up over this bracketology crap, Most fans can identify about 80 % of the post season teams. The results of the next three weeks will determine seedings, not what these self proclaimed experts now say.

Yep. Any ranking or projection is just about meaningless.

When Hornsby hit that shot to beat Arkansas i was like “omg we’re probably in for sure now” expecting an 11 seed, then ended up as uber safe 9
