Can we bring back Doug Planchard to play QB? Honestly think he could do as well as Jennings.

Or maybe Steven Damon? Both of those world beaters could have spiced up the QB competition this year.

why not compare Jefferson's first 10 games of that season to Jennings?

It is sad, really, because if you took his attitude, courage, and leadership ability and mixed Jefferson's talent, you would have a pretty good college QB.

Jefferson had the talent (for the most part), but was missing everything else. Eventually, the talent deteriorated too.

I really want Jennings to succeed. He is a true Tiger and he should not be booed like he was earlier in the season. But, he can't get the job done playing QB - not against good teams anyway, which is all you face in the SEC West.

I still don't understand why JJ regressed after his sophomore year. He wasn't a world beater, but he was still effective. Just doesn't make sense.

Coaching, or lack thereof.

The fact is Jefferson gets a bad rap around here. Is what is because of 1.9.12 . The dude was a good tiger while he was here..

Jefferson was a functional QB with some serious flaws.

Jennings at this point is not a functional QB.

So does Hookfin. And do you know what they have in common?

So, for this comparison, Jefferson had over 120 more attempts, and we are supposed to draw a conclusion?

Lets post Jefferson's junior season stats, so we can show how he regressed instead of improved as his career went on.

Jordan Jefferson 2010 junior stats:

12 games
118-209
56.5%
1411 yards
108.5 YPG
7 TD's
10 INT's
114.7 rating

Not sure where you are going with it but no one in the country could have been succesful with the way our Oline was blown up in that game.

Either way, this is not the time to rehash these same old arguments.

Jefferson was able to throw for 20% better completion % with a worse running game and O-line. There is definitely something to draw from that

Jefferson regressed from his sophomore season. Jennings has a better attitude, good work ethic, team player. He'll be better than JJ as a junior and senior.

That being said, its Harris time. Nothing left to play for this year and he is obviously very talented. Dumb down the play book and get him some experience so we don't have to go through qb growing pains every freaking year.

Be that as it may, LSU lost four games in Jefferson's sophomore season...Jennings has lost 2 games out of the 9 he started.

They were both below average football players asked to play above their station. Hookfin was a serviceable SEC nickleback who was asked to lock up one on one with guys like Roy Williams. He was put in a position to fail, despite the alleged infallibility of our then-secondary coach. Jefferson was likewise a middling backup SEC quarterback who was asked to helm a championship caliber football team. The coaches bent over backwards to mask his deficiencies and play to his strengths, but in the end they couldn't.

Completely pointless stat when comparing two players with all do respect. Unless you would take T-bob and Lyle Hitt over Faneca and Mawae

Jennings makes Jordan Jefferson look like NFL material.

And, despite people pointing out JL's freshman Ints, I submit that if AJ had to play that year where every game was a track meet and teams KNEW we had to pass, AJ would've made us wish for 6 pick 6s.
