Top OLinemen will not and should not come here to play for Grimes. If I'm a recruiter at another school, I use that against LSU all day.

Soon, no top Oline coach will come to coach under O who may be ona short leash.

Grimes and Moffit is what you get and it's not a pretty combination.
I've made my case for firing Grimes AND that our OL problems go back to Studrwra, which I attribute to he being over-worked as fill in OC (hence an issue Miles created). To be clear, OL problem is one that goes back to approx. 2010, and is a slow-burn cumlative problem that CEO and Grimes did not take all the steps possible to fix. It's on both regimes. Step 1 is firing Grimes.

So I want to talk about Moffitt and S&C aspect...

I'm not so sure it's Moffitt. I suspect it may be staff, and HC (by that I mean both Miles and CEO). Moffitt didn't suddenly lose his knowledge. The guy personally stays fit, so it's not like Bret Beliema walking around bitching about cardio.

I think it's on the HC's because the players aren't being held accountable for S&C participation. Now under NCAA rules there's only so much you can make them do. But we all know how it works. There's shaming, shaming by peers, a couple extra arse chewings, reminding them of there lax S&C when hands on hip in fall practice (with raised voices of course), etc.

In short, I'm starting to believe there's no consequence for not working out. It's either that or Moffitt and his staff all have amnesia. What's Occam's razor point to? Non participation.

And it's also becoming obvious it's not new.

Go get Rob Sale or Kevin Mawae. Hell, maybe Faneca will want to stop triathalon racing. Sale is coaching, so that ends the "never coached debate"

On the recruiting board about two weeks ago a poster said he heard exactly that from the mouth of an OL recruit. Assuming that is true, and I am, it is being used against us.

ETA: heard it from a recruit's parents, not the recruit himself.

Last year's OL beat up on teams less talented than them

That's kind of how it works. At least most teams were less talented than them last year, if we had signed more good OL more opponents this year would be beaten up due to being less talented

Jeff Grimes is a BIG Problem by Bert Macklin FBI

Dude, I kept trying to upvote multiple times while I read the post. Just in case I hadn't yet, I wanted to be covered.

I wanted to start a thread last night asking who wanted to join me helping Grimes pack his bags.
But traffic started moving on Burbank, so I let it go.

Kind of like how Miles nearly got fired and couldn't fill the DC opening?

Why would any recruit want to play for Coach O. It's quite clear the maximum he gets is 2 yrs. He may not survive this season with losing all SEC games and based on what we have seen this is a real possibility

Thats on O

Yep. If he's going to sell himself as a manager coach who depends on assistants, he has literally no room for error in hiring/firing/retaining them. He can't make mistakes and can't afford to be loyal. If an assistant isn't getting the job done, he has to be gone. Quickly.

Which center? Dodd? Can you name players? Or are you just throwing crap against the wall?

Dodd would give you an option to move Clapp back to guard and Teheuma IS WORTH A FEW WINS himself because of what he brought - experience and continuity with the others. Look, it is not rocket science we have seen pressure up the middle like we have because we haven't had he guard play. You put Clapp by Teheuma by Malone you can send Moore to that side and with little blocking from a TE we can run the ball on 8% of our schedule.

How is it "quite clear" that the coach O gets a maximum of 2 years after 4 games? Because you don't like what YOU saw?

If our FO has decided he will only get 2 years at this point then we are in deeper trouble than we realize.

Dodd left because he wasn't even second string. He got passed up by Lloyd Cushenberry in spring practice.

I don't know how any impartial observer can blame Orgeron for Teuhma. The kid basically quit instead of taking a much deserved suspension.

Most of the pressure up the middle that I've seen have been due to missed assignments and not guys being overpowered. Anyway, that's just how I see it.
