I saw he is one of 6 all time NCAA with 10,000 yards passing and 2000 rushing.

So I checked and he is now 127 on all time list and if he plays all year will be over or near 13,000 yards and in top 20 all time.

Not too shabby…..

This board makes this sound so easy. Anyone watching football (and paying attention) on Sunday would see many times even NFL QBs still underthrow WRs on the run. For some reason, this board holds JD to Brady/Manning standards.

I got news for everyone, Brady and Manning underthrew multiple long passes in their careers both in college and in the NFL.

Nabers needs more recognition. I don't think there's been a single WR in LSU history who has had more receptions and yards through the first 4 games of the season. Closest I found was Terrace Marshall's insane start to 2020 (27 recs, 512 yards, 9! TDs).

it's still an impressive stat, but it stills needs to be put into some context.

this is his 5th year as a starter.
nowhere near "thousands" of QBs even had 5 years of playing eligibility.

While I kind of agree with you here, one year of starting was 4 games. So it's not completely an outlier. He's had 47 games as a starting QB; even if he retired from football today, he's only the 6th player ever to do this.

Why do we have to go here. I have read tons of post bashing Daniels and not one has said anything about his race.

I personally think he is doing a fine job overall but can understand some of the criticisms. However none of them are races based. You you not remember Etling, J Lee, Max Johnson. There were tons of threads bashing them as well. And guess what, they were white. People on this board loved J Russel and guess what he was black.

Quit making everything about race cause 99.9 % of the time it’s not.

IMO if you throw 20/29 for 300+ & 4 TDs, it’s kind of silly for there to be any criticism at all. Has Tom Brady ever thrown a perfect game?? I mean wtf do these people expect?

There are some that look for anything to criticize instead of all the other things they could praise

He only played 4 games in 2020 (which is exactly why the NCAA didn’t count that year towards eligibility).

He’s played less than 4 regular seasons’ worth of games at this point. 47 career starts is a lot but not unprecedented by any means.

but I'd love it more if he would lead his receivers (just like he did for Nabers in the corner of the endzone) so they can catch it in stride instead of slowing down and allowing the DB to make a play.
for one year “just put it up, let the receiver make a play”

Saturday”make it perfect, bench JD fire Kelly”

All from a fan base that resides in a state damn near dead last in every metric that scores success.

No, it's clearly always about race. Us dumb, racist white people obviously can't handle a black QB, even though we have no problem with almost everybody else on the 3 deep being black.

Then what IS exactly the problem that people have with him? Because apparently putting up monster numbers and winning awards for his play is not good enough to many in this fanbase.

I remember clear as day when the fan base overwhelmingly wanted Rohan over Booty.

I've seen calls for every LSU QB to be benched. At the end of the 2018 season when it was clear that Burrow had turned the corner finishing with 10TDs vs 1 INT there were posters saying he sucks and the competition was poor so his numbers were inflated. In the off season there were 20+ page threads with some arguing Burrow would go undrafted. It wasn't until 3-4 games into 2019 before some of those comments went silent.

I remember this as well. Burrow was as good as we’d had in a decade that year and lots of morons wanted Brennan to get a shot in the spring and before the fall. With that being said, it’s worst on a black kid, as wether you like it or not, every fan base in the south has a decent amount of red neck to deal with.

Great job and congrats to JD

This team needed him to turn it up after Q1 and it's exactly what he did

I don't deny there's an element of that, but I don't like the implication that criticism of Daniels has to be something other than performance. Saturday his stat line looked great, but it was a tale of two halves he started 7/14 with an INT and many of the catches were off. I really thought Nabers had dislocated his shoulder diving for a bad pass that should have been an easy throw.

The 2nd half he was off the charts. So good that his overall performance looked great. It didn't change what happened previously and if the Arkansas had been more productive the 1st half we likely lose. He should be commended for his 2nd half and his play that half won the game, no doubt. I've said it since last season that JD gives us the best shot to win games. He just has to be consistent.

Consistent= You have to be perfect if someone I'm truly prefer is available. What QB was "Consistently" great in every play?

That's hyperbole. I didn't say every play. He was bad the 1st half and you should acknowledge that. He hit two big plays to salvage the half when Arkansas went to a prevent and blew a coverage. 7/14 was not one play. I said HE won the game with his second half.

I also said he gives us the best chance to win. Said it last season as well. So if you say he is above criticism I have to wonder what your agenda is.
