I'll never understand how this get's so many upvotes.

Just because many people were justifiably critical of his play at times last year, doesn't mean they hated him. I've followed TD pretty closely, and have not really come across any posts that would qualify as actual hate, although I'm sure there may have been a rare few that were missed.

More important, it's mainly statements like that that create an impression that there was or is hate for him, when for the most part there isn't. And it also opens the door for the next yahoo to come in and turn it racial.

Do us all a favor and give it a rest. The vast majority of our fans support all of our players regardless, will sometimes be critical when it's legit, and celebrate them when they succeed.

From his point of view, if he just buckles up for the ride this year and keeps his head to the grindstone, he'll have a great offense around him next year.
He's also just 1 play away from being handed the reins. He'll have an entire year preparing every week as if he may be expected to take over at any moment. He'll get some quality reps regardless. As the clear #2, he'll get a lot better this year as well.

Agree, however this is the rant. A few picks against FSU and the rantards will be wanting him benched.

I am very pro Daniels but If he a throws a few pics against FSU he should be benched.

See, it's the JD fan boys who have manufactured the hate narrative.

I'm a "whoever can execute the offensive game plan" guy. Last season, JD ran too quick and only made it through one or maybe 2 (if lucky) of his progressions. Nuss would go in and the offense would automatically look different.

At the end of the day, LSU is in an extremely fortunate position to have this QB room

Iron sharpening iron.
And you just know Nuss is salivating at the thought of the keys being handed over. We’re in a good place w/qb

Because LSU fan's favorite player is always the backup QB.

JD gives us the best chance to win. If he can mix his running with his ability to extend plays to let receivers uncover and become a more aggressive passer, he can be the best QB in CFB. He just needs to know when to do one of the three. I expect being in his 2nd season at LSU with mostly the same players and staff will result in a huge jump.

There were a lot of people who didn't like Joe Burrow coming in when he did, because they thought Myles Brennan was the future QB at LSU and didn't want to disrupt that and possibly have Brennan transfer.

As far as JD goes, people want a gunslinger, like Joe Burrow was. Throw the ball 40 times a game, complete 80% for 350 yards and 4 TDs. Easy Peasy. That is not who JD is. Losing the opener didn't help him. To be fair, JD did depend on his legs too much and seemed to have confidence issues with throwing downfield during the first half of the season.

I think people warmed up to him once he started throwing downfield a bit more. His performance in beating 'Bama certainly helped him win some folks over.

As the saying goes, the most popular player on the team is always the backup QB...

Defense, however, has me nervous but I think Smith and Perkins will hold down the front 7 just fine.

LSU’s big uglies gave birth to DBU as much as Ron Cooper ever did.

I think alot of it has to do with JD transferring into LSU, and not growing into his spot. I know a lot of players do the same, but most people gravitate towards players who've started and grew with the same program. Not that any of what i mentioned is deserving, just think that is the way most people are wired.

When Nuss gets the opportunity to start, his OL and TEs will be 3 years in the making, his WR will core will be better. Should be a great way to put himself in the first round of the draft.
