No idea if he’ll be a finalist, but I guarantee he’ll be somewhere in the top 5 or 6 as far as betting odds go to start the season.

Considering how good Florida was this year that's an impressive throw.

He made it as high as #7 on the Heisman odds in November so finalist in 2024 isnt out of the question.

The key to Daniels' improvement is the development of our running game; it was not good last year.

Pretty sure he was up to like 4 or 5 at least on one site. Maybe tied.

he was expected to be more efficient than Daniels

Since when is a 78% completion rate inefficient?

For an LSU QB not named Joe Burrow, Daniel’s numbers are elite. The difference is that he did his passing between the 20’s and on early downs.

What’s hard to believe is that he took so many sacks.

Nuss can’t play a full game without at least 2 turnovers
Daniels was sacked 43 times which is 3rd most in college football. Most of those sacks were his own fault.

Jayden Daniels - Heisman Finalist 2023 by charminultra
I agreed with you up until Joe Brady

The facts prove it so. Burrow + Ensminger < Burrow + Brady. That's not a knock on Burrow. Any QB success will depend on a number of factors. The play caller is a huge factor.

Hurts was hesitant as a passer at Bama, and was benched in favor of Tua in the National Championship for that reason.

An accurate pass is an accurate pass. Did he make any accurate throws vs Bama?

Agreed. The diff between good & great QB play is:

- Offensive Coordinator
- O-Line
- Run Game
- And solid defense (you can't with out a solid D)

Remove either of these, and it's a "good QB" not "Elite".

People who are saying "Y'all have lost it." for thinking this isn't far fetched are serious haters. Towards the end of the season, JD was +2000 odds to win the heisman this year. +2000 odds is usually about 5th or 6th in preseason heisman odds. So to think he can't finish top four next year is just ignorant and not wanting us to succeed.
