I drove in from New Orleans in 1990 to see the final game of the eight team Baton Rouge Regional - winner goes to Omaha. The game was delayed about four hours. The original plan was me and a buddy would take the afternoon off work and go to the game. Our wives would be none the wiser.
When the delay happened, and we decided to wait it out, there was no getting around the consequences. Both wives were pissed, and we made a side bet about who would get laid first.
Well the game was won by LSU on a bottom of the eighth home run. And it was a great night of baseball!
I handled it like almost anyone would; I apologized (both couples had small kids, so the wives had a reason to be upset) and actually got laid that night. I asked my buddy how he did and he said, “I told her I had a great time watching the Tigers win, and I’d do it again.” Needless to say, he lost the bet.

To be fair, we have had some significant weather that crossed our area from Texas. I guess they were told it would be there in game time.
Nobody wants to lose a starting pitcher to delay. Start our ace and then he only gets two innings? Nope.

Uhigh is literally playing a playoff game on LSU’s campus while we sit through a “severe weather delay” a few yards away. I don’t know who is making the decisions but this is yet another big F U to the most loyal fan base in college baseball. I have had season tickets for over 30 years and I have never seen mismanagement of weather conditions like we have endured in the Jay Johnson era. I don’t know if he is responsible but he sure as hell isn’t being proactive with the fan base. Feeding us shite and keeping us in the dark is not an appropriate response.

It’s bush league of him to always try to push the games back with the slightest chance of rain. I get why he tries to do it but trying to force the 2nd game into Saturday for a rest advantage is bush league imo, but the games will get played regardless
