Do you really think that UNC will not pitch at least their #3 in the first game?

That’s emotional thinking. Of course there will be a ton of criticism. We’ve got a ton of idiots in our fan base. But the logical people will recognize that if the rest of the staff couldn’t beat the 3 or the 4, you weren’t going to beat UNC with that staff.
It is emotional thinking, and only a fool would not use emotional thinking. Emotions drive baseball. Win the first game and you start feeling hot; win the second game and you feel invincible.

Once again, did the people bitching not learn shite from last season?
They didn’t. Some were suggesting going another route in the final elimination game against Lowder and Wake.
Bottom line, if you don’t start Jump and you burn 4-5 guys in a losing effort against Wofford, you now have to rely heavily on Jump and Holman eating a ton of innings, then having to piece together a whole staff approach for two more games.
It’s all moot if you don’t win game one. I’d rather have a well-rested arsenal to be prepared for two games, if necessary, to win the regional.
Start Jump. Win. And the plan is intact going into Saturday.

Jump isn’t that far behind Holman if he is right now.
Jump is better than Holman

Who is LSU’s 1 and 2? Feels like they are pretty close so I’m guessing JJ goes with which pitcher is the best matchup.

I think Holman has performed a little better than Jump but they are so close that who to start is based on matchups.

Yeah I’m not sure you can say one is a better choice than the other. It’ll probably be strategic whoever the guy is.

Jump is better than Holman

He is gonna throw Jump. Best case scenarios include. 1. A complete game to save the pen. 2. Offense gets hot and scores early and often and he comes out early to comeback an inning or two Monday if needed.

Come in ‘ guns a blazin’ and set the tone.

He will throw Jump then Holman to keep them on schedule for the Super Regional. He is not just trying to win the Regional.

Jump is the answer because Wofford is very active on the base paths.
If Jay was even thinking on switching them back this is the reason he keeps the rotation the same for the Regional.

I just don’t think throwing Jump against Wofford makes much sense knowing that UNC has some lefties that can rake. You want that lefty on lefty matchup advantage.

We need a rainout so we don’t have to play on Sunday.
