Saw this at a bar and knew it'd be on the rant....that catch = epic.

Or has never played baseball
Across his body, full extension, way off the ground, and a tough angle. Seriously one of the best catches you'll see.

This is why Mainieri recruits speed now-a-days

They just showed it on Good Morning America too. Anchors seemed to be impressed.

Lester isn't totally wrong, Brag.
The catch was amazing; one of the better ones I've seen. Can't take anything away from it. It has even more flare because it's in the bottom of the ninth with two outs and saves the game.
But he didn't dive parallel. The ball is still 7 or 8 feet off the ground when he catches it and much higher when he decides to leave the ground. He jumps up as much as he jumps out so it's not like the dive allows him to cover more ground. It's not out of this world to think that he could have still caught it had he kept running full stride.

Not during the SC top ten.

Bumped to #2 right after the blazers game ended last night.

I was slightly pissed when they bumped it than I saw #1 and that changed

And that is why he had to jump. If he didn't, that ball is going over his head and past him.

I'm not saying he didn't have to. I'm saying it's not as crazy as everyone seems to think. People jumped all over Lester, but he's not necessarily wrong. It's about the angle of the ball, how fast Foster is running, and at what height he can catch the ball. Physics says it's possible to have two points of "contact"

I think it was Lester's definitive way he said it that came across as pissing on everyone's parade lol

Wow, people will bitch about anything on here...bitching that he could have caught it without diving... STFU.
Great catch!
Great catch!

I didn't mean to. Just saying. He keeps running, and its a great running catch. You don't cover more ground when you dive. He dove pretty early, to where it tells me had he kept running, he would have tracked it down
