Love the trainer guy's approach. Keeping everything positive during the early stages. Not sure what the jumping has to do with anything. But, I'm not a trainer.Just gotta pull for JaMarcus, seems like an overall good guy.

The issue with Jamarcus has never been talent. It's whether he is willing to study tape EVERY WEEK

Bingo. I don't have any doubt that he still has the physical ability to put the ball where it needs to be. Its whether he knows where to put it against NFL defenses that is still the question.

I wish him the best.

It's a tremendous developer of athleticism. He said in the video that he wants JR to do well at teh combine and show the scouts he has alot of athleticism on top of his obvious arm strength.

I'm guessing here, but the NFL has moved a little toward more mobility in qb's, unless you are a top tier pocket passer who can read defenses etc and stay in the pocket effectively.

Basically, trying to make him more appealing to more teams.

Man, if he can get down to 4.8 and drop to say 270-280... just imagine the head of steam if the pocket breaks down and he has to run 4-5 yards... could even be used on the goal line like Newton is.

No one expects him to be a running qb, they HAVE to see that he will work on his body and mind to MAYBE deserve a roster spot on a desperate team. SO if jumping on boxes (which is an exercise that tons of NFL guys do) helps you lose weight and improves you athleticism when you are begging some idiot to take a flier on you, then YES, you do them till you fall down!

EDIT: Not a bad video at all. He looks like he just has a huge gut from too many potato chips and soft drinks/beers, but other than that looks okay. I don't think he will be able to get in NFL shape for this summer though. He looks like he's about a year off from being in great shape if he wants to do it. I absolutely think he could be a really good NFL QB in 2014, but I just don't think he has enough time to work off that gut this spring. I'm hoping he sticks with it.

Well, if this is all he's doing (training), then I think he could be in shape for summer. He's not like you or I going to the gym for an hour after work.

The scouts see the jumping as important as it relates to agility, escapability, quick moves, etc.

Anyhow. I love Jamarcus and don't even consider a "Best LSU QB" debate without him. Loved watching him drop back and shrug off a sure sack and make a play downfield. I am often thinking of TM7, Jamarcus, and Chad Jones and hope their careers aren't done. But I also wished that for Cecil for quite a few years.

I am truly all behind JM and hope he becomes all that he can be. Regret's a sonofabitch and the chance to right it is a blessing......not all of us were blessed.

He seems to have a great support staff around him. I hope he really wants it. The one obvious is that he can still sling it, and really needs a nutritionist.

I agree that he is the most "talented" QB we've had. He was so much better than every one else in college, and had some great WR's who were always open.

I was hoping that they'd give an update on his weight. Still looks very heavy. Shedding weight has to be a huge part of this.

Serious question....

If JaMarcus goes to the NFL and has a productive career......is that the "Greatest comeback ever" in football?

I actually think Vick coming back from prison is at the top (there was doubt a team would even sign him...let alone start 3/4 years in the NFL)
