Few years ago I saw him playing craps at the Pearl in Biloxi at like 9am in slippers and a robe. Let's just say I felt a little sorry for him when I noticed it was him, and I'm ultimately not surprised to hear this.

False. He never had a work ethic. It did not matter which organization selected him, he was going to be a bust. Al Davis selected him bc of his size and ability to throw the ball downfield. Davis loves the vertical passing attack.

The problem with the NFL at the time was players getting huge signing bonuses before playing any games in the NFL. Jamarcus did not care about working out or staying in shape. He got his money. In his mind, he was set.

Do we know if he bought the weight room equipment for the school out of his own pocket and paid himself back with the $55K? Why would he volunteer if he is broke?

Former No. 1 NFL draft pick JaMarcus Russell has been removed from the coaching staff at the high school he attended in Mobile, Alabama, and is facing a lawsuit accusing him of taking money meant as a donation to the school. “JaMarcus Russell was relieved of his volunteer coaching duties at Williamson High School during the fall of last year,” Mobile County Public School officials told WKRG Sports. Russell is also facing a lawsuit alleging that he took a $74,000 check intended as a donation to the school and kept the money for himself. Chris Knowles, a local business owner who wrote the check, says Russell approached him about a donation to help the Williamson High School football team purchase weight room equipment, and Knowles gave Russell the donation by check. But the school allegedly never got any of that money, and Russell reportedly deposited it in a credit union and promptly withdrew $55,000 of that.

What a sack of shitake.

That may be true but he still lacked discipline and you need a whole lot of that to strive as a QB in the NFL. He may have been better but without discipline he would have had a hard time sustaining success.

Sad to see this after all the hard work he did getting the rookie contracts reduced for everyone after him in the NFL

I remember hearing Jordy saying his uncle took half his signing bonus and invested it in properties along the coast. Jordy said all of that was keeping Jamarcus rich after NFL… anyone remember Jordy talking about that? Jordy also said K Moses was the most locked in LSU recruit of all time sooooooo

Jordy loves to talk out of his arse

Stealing a $75,000 check from his high school? My goodness.

Pretty light considering he stole 60M from the raiders
He most likely didn't invest or save a single penny of that 60M either; highly probable that he blew it all on material possessions and frivolous BS.

A small portion of that 60M will make a lot of Purple Drank though.

So you were hanging out in the same place as him at the same time as him… and you felt sorry for him?

Anyone with half a brain knew he would be a bust in the NFL. I can’t believe the raiders used the number one overall pick on him.

You have to hold a teaching certificate and have a teaching position to be paid to coach. If he didn’t have that, volunteering was the only way for him to coach.

The minute he got booted from the Raiders, I assumed he’d die broke and penniless. Only question was how many years it would take.
