Opt out had nothing to do with the combine performance

Would've been outshined by Heisman winning WR with a better QB on a better team with a better coach that doesn't take chicks he's banging to practice. He would not have improved his stock by coming back playing for a beach bum coach in what turned out to be an asterisk joke of a season. Instead he read the room and had enough confidence in what he already put on tape to be the top player taken at his position. The draft PROVED that confidence was correct.

Devin white made a great decision not to opt out. He killed it at the combine. Top 10 pick and super bowl champ.

It works both ways.

This board was full of posts claiming D Smith > Chase.

Yes, the one that quit on home state and went to Bama.

We have some crazy fans and they wonder why players do things they do. We are not so appreciative and demanding

As compared to Matt Corral, he certainly did make the right decision for him.

this has been the biggest down fall of our program for years now. Why is our own compliance dept. working against our program. I really hope BK can get this fixed.

I wonder if Bengals fan will say the same thing when he quits on them over a contract dispute while still on his rookie contract or while on his second contract.

It has nothing to do with compliance, it is a school issue. The weed issues are out of the athletic dept. hands. Have to go to the president and BOS if you want it changed.

I get everyone has different circumstances, but why didn’t people opt out 20 years ago?

I don't remember a pandemic affecting college sports 20 years ago, and having a shitty coach that just so happen to have great players that lost both his OC and DC to other teams..

It's fascinating to me how many people have to break things down into ____ or ____ just so they can wrap their brains around it.

I mean, I understand why and how our brains are molded that way from our youth but it's still fascinating to me.

Life doesnt work that way though. Things aren't black and white. They are not static. Our world is not this or that. Lines are crossed, they're grey and they move.

This is absolute truth (pun intended).

Covid was the reason he opted out. Without Covid he at least plays the regular season.
