I can’t blame him from leaving after the shite show that bowl game was. frick Les Miles.
Posted on 2/10/21 at 4:44 am to LSUTigers_00
Man! How dare Les make shite like that up about Collins! What ever happened to him? Oh, he was cut by Atlanta for failing multiple drug tests. Sounds like Les was honest about what kind of player Collins was, and he proved it by doing the exact same thing at the next level.

Hasn’t he been suspended for multiple seasons worth of games for substances?

A proper reading of this is more likely Les knew what would/could come out
Les probably told the NFL, as he should have. The NFL coaches need to trust a college coach so they can get good evaluations of the players. If Les did not come clean about Collins' drug use no one would believe him in the future. And that would hurt the kids who are trying hard.
If a player got caught with weed a couple of times, learned his lesson, then straightened out for his last season or two, Les would probably have kept that quiet to help the kid. If this happened after the NFL figured out Les suppressed drug use by Collins nobody would believe him about the good kid.
tl;dr: Les would probably cover for a kid he thinks will act responsibly in the future.

Exactly.
How do these guys not understand that coach can't lie for you to NFL teams? If he does that the scouts won't believe him when he says "This guy has great work ethic and has never put a foot wrong off the field" about his hard working players.

Les Miles did nothing wrong
Posted on 2/10/21 at 6:51 am to LSUTigers_00
Did Les sabotage him, or did Les tell NFL teams the truth?

So he’s mad that he wasn’t able to fool a team into wasting more money on him?

From what I can tell, Les and LSU told the truth.
Collins isn't even in the league anymore.
He was drafted in the 2nd round in 2015.
- April 2016 - Suspended 4 games for violating PED policy
- August 2017 - Suspended 10 games for violating PED policy
- Nov 2017 - waived by the Falcons
- April 2018 - Suspended 10 games for PED
- 2018 and 2019 he was on and off of Indianapolis Practice squad
I don't see anything for 2020.....
So, let me get this straight... Les Miles and LSU sabotaged him?

18 teams interviewed him about his problem with weed. Next thing he knew, a story comes out and says a source have ESPN information about him failing multiple drug tests while at LSU.
I mean, if a player has that happen then goes on to fail multiple tests in the NFL, it sounds like everyone had valid information. It's a story if he goes on the have a great career with zero issues

So they have no proof of Miles doing anything but the title is "Les Miles sabotaged former LSU star's draft stock."
That is hilarious.
It comes out every year when players fail drug tests but espn saying "sources" means "Miles tanked my draft stock"
So to prove everyone wrong he goes and fails multiple drug tests in the NFL. This is just laughable.

The 2 guys in the video admit that the NFL does it's due diligence on all potential draft picks because their making a huge investment.
And this isn't new. If a guy has a bunch of red flags, their draft stock goes WAY. It's a personal accountability.
These highly rated kids know that everything they do (much like their game film) will come back on them, both good and bad.
It's no different than a normal college student that makes mediocre grades but wants to get into a sought after career like the FBI, or CIA.
SO no, no sir. Jalen Collins hurt Jalen Collins.
Les has a reputation. When the NFL reaches out to him, his job is to tell the truth....you brag on your studs and you warn and preach caution for your duds and problem children.

Tre White came in as a freshman, outplayed him and took his spot period
And also ended up going in the 1st round, got a nice contract after rookie deal, and likely never failed a drug test. So many guys waste their talent on weed and stupidity.

Ok to all you assholes trashing Collins(I’d really like to call you something else that you know you really are but I won’t). His comments aren’t about making it, that a fact. His career wasn’t what he wanted. His comments are about a shite for brains a-hole coach that he gave his blood sweat and tears to. A person that is supposed to have your back sabotaged his draft and cost him money. For what daring to leave early? For smoking a plant? Miles is a c$ck for doing that. The sad part is whether it’s LSU or Miles, their moronic and draconian hatred of a plant created by God, probably cost is 2 NCs. All the while Saban and Bama are winning NCs and smoking weed like crazy.

quote:agree 100%. Especially the part about Les having to be and being bluntly honest with NFL scouts/GMs. It's not about protecting his own backside and rep. It's about protecting the other players and future draft positions. If any HC/school can't be trusted by NFL GMs to give you good information it will damage future draft entrants.

To boot, Collins was drafted somewhere, by how much is subjective, higher than many experts thought he should based on missing several games, or didn't start in many games (ref. Gruden). That is the opposite of tanked draft pick.

No sir.
Go pull up Spotrac. Type Jalen Collins in the search bar at the top.
Look at all of the transactions history in the right hand column.... you'll see 3 NFL suspensions and he's not even in the league.
Is that because of Les Miles or because of Jalen Collins.

I keep being told by stoners that it isn’t addictive. Yet these young men with hundreds of thousands to millions of dollars on the line can’t stay away from it.
Sad.

NFL teams are insanely thorough. That don't just interview the head coach, they interview assistants, trainers, teammates, and even family members and friends.
It could've been legitimately 50 different people.

Also, he confirmed with 18 teams that he smoked weed. It's very possible one of those teams leaked it to ESPN to try to get his draft stock down so they could take him lower. He sounds like he can't think for himself anyway. I definitely don't feel sorry for him. He was suspended like 4 times in the NFL for weed.
