Kids comes in as a high 5* recruit, his main recruiter (Austin thomas) bounces and the staff proceeds to move him from Safety, to WR back to DB, back to an h-back/te role and then back to DB again.

What does he do? Whatever the hell the hell the team need and balls the frick out.

Kid has legit 1st rounder potential with safety athleticism and linebacker size. He’s overshadowed by one of the best safeties we’ve ever had but he should be appreciated more. His versatility and willingness to adapt aren’t coachable qualities.

He just kept his head down and kept grinding. In an era with snowflakes like Kelvin Joseph guys like Jacoby are rare.

Stevens is a stud and I can’t wait to see him breakout and whip some arse.

Do we have any proof that it was the staff’s choice to move him?

Watching him hustle on his sacks was a lot of fun. Can't remember which game but I thought maybe Georgia. He's in pursuit of the QB. Gets knocked off his feet, pops up and never stops and gets the sack. Love that drive.

Its called trying to find a spot for a talented and versatile player. He should have a breakout year for sure

He has had huge expectations since his arrival. I think chatter has quieted as he has struggled to find a position.

I mean, who else would move him if not the staff? The white hats from the poli board?

Either they chose or they let an 18 year old dictate their roster. You decide piratebuttqueen

You think Stevens was frustrated with something that was his decision?

What a stupid question

How'd that work out? Also name 3 players that you’ve seen that benefit. It’s called slowing his development. A jack of all trades is a master of none.

Stevens should be on the field as much as possible. He can flat out play.

It’s the Ed apologist. Mention 1 thing slightly negative about the program in they come out like radical leftist.

Which is why you don’t change his position 6 times.

Stevens even credits the staff for switching him back to defense. Otherwise he was planning to transfer.

A lot of players have played a few positions before they found the right spot. It's really not uncommon at all. Josh Reed started out as a RB.

Bet he still catches grief from his teammates about the Southeastern QB running him down in the open field. (from what I recall, though, that QB would have run down most everyone).

You have to go back to Saban because CLM never really moved kids once they began practicing at LSU at a position. Not saying he was wrong for it, just saying that he didn't do it much and when he did, he had little success with it (Shephard from QB-WR is the only example I can think of). He would recruit kids that played one position in HS and play them at a different one in college (Elliot Porter for example) but once a player practiced at a position, they usually stuck at that position with the exception of a few safeties moving to LB with little to no success.

Sometimes you move a kid and he flourishes, sometimes they don't and end up back at their original position. The thing is, you won't know if you don't try.

edit: i'd like to add that the stevans experiment lasted far too long. After he didn't win playing time at WR, he should have been placed at safety and left alone.

I lived in Murfreesboro his Senior year and met him in person. He and his mom seem very down to earth and great people. Watching him in high school and really following him as a player, I'm happy for him and ecstatic to see him play this season as a starter finally. I truly think he has all the gifts needed to be a huge playmaker, and Stevens will have a breakout year. People forget how much of a ballhawk he is and he plays LONG.
