Is Jake gone from OTB and replaced by Marler or is this temporary?

That show is evolving into a non sports show.
Maybe things will change during football season, but right now it’s bad.

It got good during the season last season. It was unlistenable during the offseason after T-Bob left.

That show is horrendous. All downhill since T-Bob left. Needs to shift to a show hosted by Hanny with Hester and Flynn talking ball... not ripping trading card packs and talking pop culture.

It's the summer in a city where the college's sports programs are the biggest topics of interest. LSU baseball season ended at the end of May and football/basketball were already well into the off-season. Thus, there was very little to talk about that was of great interest to the BR metro audience.

As ALWAYS with LSU camp about to start and the season beginning just a few weeks later there will be much more to discuss

I agree, which is not something I thought I would say at the time he left.

T-Bob talked more about Lord of the Rings than he did sports, and has the maturity level of a 16 year old high school kid. I genuinely do not understand the love for that mouth breather.

It’s definitely taken a step down since t Bob left but usually it’s ok if it’s Hester and Flynn. If one of the two is absent it gets stale quick.

Flynn has gotten a lot better since he first joined.

T-Bob is very intelligent and I think that must be over your head.

i mean, other than the fact that we're in camp for one of the most anticipated football seasons in the history of the program, yeah, not much to talk about....

T-Bob is a child, most things are better with his absence.

They don’t only have to talk about LSU and BR centered things the entire time.

There’s Saints, Pelicans, numerous other instate CFB teams, MLB, former tigers in the pros, high school teams etc.

I understand the pelicans suck but they’re still a professional sports team based in Nola. There’s plenty of storylines to pick apart with them. I don’t know why Louisiana media tends to act like the pelicans do not exist.

I sort of agree. It's a lot of non-sports talk. It's only really good when something big happens on the news cycle, but other than that, they struggle. I mean they had a 6 minute discussion on 9am movies and popcorn this morning for a spiderman movie. I've basically quit listening unless I know they have a big sports news item.

And that anticipation is enough to sustain 3 hours of conversation, 5x per week, for two months, when there are no games being played or even any practices taking place?

"Welcome to hour 1 of OTB. In this hour we'll talk about how excited we are for this upcoming football season. Then, be sure to stick around for hours 2 and 3 where we'll talk about how excited we are for this upcoming football season. And be sure to tune in the rest of the week where we will talk about how excited we are for this upcoming season for the next 12 hours of the show throughout the week"

They've talked about football every day for parts of the show for the last two months. But how much is there to discuss on a daily basis for multiple hours when there is little of actual substance taking place at this time of the year?

it's their job....of course there is little substance. but a sports show should be talking about sports... not 15 min of a naked guy jumping off the brookyn bridge like this morning.
