why on earth do we play jacksonville state and south alabama next season instead of Tulane, Cajuns, or even reschedule that Mcneese game?

good point, but i wasn't really thinking all about the money. I was thinking more about the fans. it is fun to have all Louisiana fans in BR for a weekend and all enjoying themselves. its more of a friendly thing

I, for one, like it that LSU plays USA. I was born in Baton Rouge when my Dad was a student there, and I have two degrees (M.S. and Ph.D.) from USA in an area where they had none of those at LSU. There is an old principle that you are supposed to get better as you are challenged by the best. USA aspires to be great, and the only way to get there is to play the best. Also--there are a lot of LSU fans at USA and in the Mobile area. LSU playing USA could also be a type of recruiting ploy to continue to attract Mobile talent--unfortunately, Bama has had the upper hand recently (LSU got Jamarcus Russell and a few other players a good while ago--Bama got McCarron and Coker). USA probably doesn't need the money--the school was academically sound long before football. Also--USA plays against a lot of the upper tier teams in the U.S., why not football?

I honestly don't care about out-of-conference games. If we were an ACC team, I would, but the SEC is good enough. Bottom line - A one loss SEC team with the an SEC Championship win will be in the CFP. That doesn't necessarily hold true with ACC, Pac-12, Big 12.

Big 12 should definitely be concerned about out-of-conference games.

I agree. We should play more in-state schools and keep LSU/Louisiana money here. It would help La schools in competition with these other out of state schools. We don't gotta like em, it just keeps the family happy. And the tailgate is on when it is just familia!

Damn. How long must you have been waiting for USA to come up on the Rant and to pimp your advanced degrees?
