We can always use a little mean streak in a receiver/TE. He’s built to come in and play right away.

He is a real student of the game.

I thought he was saying that he wanted to wear number 2 so he was glad he was gone. :)

He is a gym rat. Real hard worker. Brings his lunch pail everyday.

What I like about Bech is the way he goes and gets the ball. What made Chase so good and I think Bech has some of the same quality, is they get 50/50 almost every time.

Honestly, I think he will end up being better than Gilbert. He is super tough and a great route runner. he gets open, which is something Gilbert had a problem with. lastly, he doesn't make excuses, he works for what he wants.
Gilbert was so physically overpowering in high school, but didn't have the same advantages in the SEC. I like what I've seen from Bech and he's an Louisiana boy, which makes it even better.

Almost wish he would've said "Get fricked Arik."

Gilbert was and is good, don't kid yourself, but he quit and nothing was sweeter than knowing he was somewhere in Georgia watching his teammates win in Gainesville and then outlasting Colonel Reb. I like Bech's swag! There's not a team on their schedule next season LSU will be afraid to play. I'm sure Arik will get a warm welcome back to Death Valley. "GET SOME!"

Stop the madness. You can be excited and rational at the same time

I mean at this point it’s possible. Gilbert didn’t do anything amazing this year that proved he was GOAT tight end. Not saying he won’t be, but there’s 5* busts all the time.

I'm talking about end results...not natural talent. there is NO doubt that Arik is a better player...much better natural talent. Did you watch him on the field, though. he wasn't able to get open. That is going to be a problem for him.

Bech plays receiver like a linebacker, the dude loves to hit, and from what I've seen he delivers blows a lot more often than he receives them. He will crush people on blocks too, you can just tell he loves to hit people.
There is no question about Bech's toughness, I think he would try to get on the field with a broken leg and keep playing. The kid has the old school mental toughness attitude that will serve him very well in college football and beyond.

Gilbert's going to do well unless he is so far gone mentally he can't compete which I doubt. He's too talented not to be very good.
But, if Bech can come in and give LSU a bit of a Thad Moss style of play the team will excel with him. Moss was just as valuable as a blocker and leader as he was a receiver. I think Bech can do that as a flex TE if he continues to develop.

The most significant difference is Bech wants to be a Tiger and has a very good skill set. He is also a leader and will contribute on and off the field. He will make us proud.
