He’s got a good slider and an adequate fastball.
He’s never going to get you multiple times through a lineup.

Guidry is not going to get you 7 innings he’s a relief pitcher with 2 pitches dude was going to be the 2nd baseman opening weekend a transitioned to the pen out of need.

what is the infatuation with guidry? people were calling for him to be the starter today all week. did they not realize he had given up 8 runs in 15 innings and is a short stop thats being forced to pitch because of how shitty our situation is? he had a nice save in that one sec game that i think people are latching onto. hes definitely not the savior.

I’d love to say we don’t need starters that go seven. Unfortunately based on the last two weekends yes we do, and no we don’t have them

I know we're trying to ease Coleman back but if him and Guidry can eat up 6-7 innings consistently I'm sure our underperforming pen can piece together something in game 3

Floyd looked great. He’s grown into his role and I’m happy with 1&2. Problem is we need a significant lead for me to trust anybody out of the pen to hold a lead for either, and game three is a complete toss up

So you think a true freshman that didn’t even pitch in the fall and preseason that was thrown into the fire because of injuries can stretch out miraculously and give you 7 innings? Give me a break if he can move into the number 3 starter and give us 4-5 innings that’s all you can ask for.

We are light years away from those two combining and becoming a solution to a weak bullpen.

Last week Guidry went 3.1
This week Coleman went 2.2
that's 6 IP so ok that's best case which 5-6 IP is still something that is workable
