The fact that everyone is so upset about this hire is the thing that makes me think it will probably work out really well

It was either take a chance on someone or hire a retread. I’d rather take a chance and hope for the best.

Well considering Zimmer has had elite defenses every year but this one...probably not the case.

They traded their entire secondary basically. Zimmer praised his development of the young guys this season.

Look his nfl record is pretty shitty. There’s no real way to spin it. He’s been below average.

On the other hand he actually has a pretty decent college resume. I’m not saying he’s going to fail, but it’s definitely an...interesting move to hire a guy coming off four straight unsuccessful seasons.

The Rant loved the Pelini hire. If they hate this hire I’m feeling good.

Ehhh. The rant wasn’t that in favor of Pelini. It was like 70% for 30% against. Most of the people skeptical of this hire are the same ones who were somewhat skeptical of Pelini.

This is a bad hire on paper. So was Pelini. But most people want to have off season optimism, understandably so, so they talk themselves into it. Pelini didn’t work out. This guy may.

They’re both awful hires on paper. Just for different reasons

This day and time, stopping spread/no huddle offenses is not easy....even BAMA gives up more points now.

Good Luck Coach!

A less than or just average NFL Secondary Coach with DC experience in D2, not even FCS. This the best LSU can do? This is laughable.

Yeah, this hire is... puzzling

He was a secondary/cornerbacks coach, not a defensive coordinator.
