Its' NOT gonna be Ensminger, folks - Cool your over-reaction jets

Coach O has known he needed a new OC for months. He has his man behind the scenes.
For those in Senior Leadership, you realize the PR/communications that need to be managed. Relations and Strategy are in-play. This is not a Texas Hold 'Em card table in a Bogalusa garage.
Coach O sold a formula in his binder that he would get great OC and DC's. Canada was not a personality fit, and Etling was too limited to let his way succeed fully.
Expect a big name as OC to be announced shortly (before Feb signing day) after the Bowl game.
Of course, Alleva will want to manage PR risks (he still carries the Duke Lacrosse baggage/psychology with him always).
Cool your jets.
The ESPN team always try to create clicks and viewership, and always are going to create bogus stories. Less than 50% of which are valid. This is one of the bogus narratives. Edit: Admittedly, in this case, given life by Coach O, BUT for specific strategic reasons.
Ensminger is decidedly NOT compatible with the "Binder approach" layed-out by Coach O to Alleva and F King Alexander.
Chill.
Its going to be a stellar match, with a guy who has a style and record which is tailored to beat Saban. The zero points scored by Ensminer's approach in '16 tells you that it is not him.
Table your good old boy concerns.
Coach O values his success, resume and dream job way more than some of you realize.
Geaux Tigers!

I want to believe it will be a big name, but Orgeron singled out Ensminger as a possible replacement a month ago when asked about Canada's future. This narrative wasn't plucked out of the sky.

What "big name OC" will want to come here after what is going on with Canada?

Relationships. Recruiting. Strategy.

The same can be said for big name head coaches after the way Allleva/Fking got rid of Miles.

Let's hope the next OC doesn't get into an argument with O.

Is this kind of like how we knew for months that we needed a head coach, and we ended up signing the defensive line coach?

What about anything that happened in the last two years gives you any indication this will be true?

While I really want to believe; you the past history with this group is not giving much confidence.

For those in senior leadership, okay hotshot

Not that you're wrong about generating clicks, but history would suggest that ESPN has had a good handle on LSU coaching search info since Miles was gone. Broke the Herman news and the news that he changed his mind and then broke the news O got the job afterwards.

I don't doubt that he values it, I doubt his ability to manage it. O clearly wants an OC that will run things that way he wants them run. Problem is, his way of running things doesn't work. Example: Troy, Syracuse, and MSU.

Nah cuz, O is all about the good ole boys. Examples: Fact that he "knew" he could get Kiffin. Fact that Sark's and Ensminger's names are now being thrown around as OC pick.

Like Coach O sounding like an idiot at the Press Conference talking about Canada and stating Emsminger could be the OC? That was a PR clinic, we should all have been taking notes.

"Relax guys, it's not going to be Orgeron...Alleva has his man behind the scenes"
We've heard all of this before.
