He put all his eggs into one basket for Kiffin last year. That backfired and we were lucky to get plan B as Canada.

Now we have a couple guys on this board who have legit inside connections saying that they're hearing that EO is all-in on (presumably) Hugh Freeze, but he has major doubts that he can sell the hire to his superiors. And in that same breath, both our guys say that Ensminger is the solo "plan B".

Now that could change at a moment's notice, but right now it looks like it's either the very long shot or promote Ensminger. If that leaves you comfortable enough to rest assured that it will not be Ensminger, then I need to accompany you to Vegas sometime...

That's got to be the hope. Seeing that O has a tendency to want to hire folks who he has a history with and now that he's been burned by Canada in not doing that you'd have to assume:
- Sarkisian- if either Atlanta or he aren't happy there.
- Kendall Briles- O wanted Kiffin who is now a head coach. If Kiffin vouches for Kendall and O gets his protege that might be close enough.
- Freeze- I've read rumors that they didn't get along at Ole Miss so this could be moot. Or they could both need each other so much it might work.

I wonder if it might not be more palatable to name Ensminger OC and any of the above, especially the latter two, as QB coach or some position coach so they aren't the face of the offense.

I also wonder if there isn't someone else, maybe someone who was OC for Carroll along the way that I don't have the energy to research...

O does realize Etling is gone?

Seems he hired a bad fit, isn’t that in him? And if it is the QB why didn’t he keep Scott, give McMillan a chance? Start Brennan?

Nope this is a bunch of bullshite

Tailor an offense to beat Saban? This is fricking stupid and if that is his thought O is dumber than I thought.

LOL If this is managing PR well then I don't know how to frick it up any more.

I won't even get into the ridiculous meeting the coaches had with Alleva and will start with the A&M post game.

A smart coach simply says that Canada is his OC and is under contract and there's nothing more to say. If he has to expand he simply states that he always supports all coaches moving up if the right opportunity arises, as that's how he's move up in the business and it's how you attract good coaches.

You don't fricking basically say you want your OC gone and then start rambling about your fricking TE coach taking over.

And if you DO you damn well better be clear if you mean interim or not. All he did was spark rumors which is exactly what you don't want to do before signing day.

They botched the shite as usual.

Do you realize how silly you sound by making repeated references to a binder?

Good grief...this is LSU’s reality...

Correct.

Coach O has known he needed a new OC for months. He has his man behind the scenes.

False.

O offered the job to Ensminger. Luckily, he turned it down because unlike our overreaching leader he knows his limitations and is happy in the role for which he is best suited.

There is no master plan. We are flying by the seat of our waders, but O just fell arse backwards into the biggest break he could have asked for because the guy he wanted turned him down and will now be forced to make a real hire.

All this knowledge can be yours too for $9.95 a month you stupid troglodytes.

Do Ed ad Enos have a past working relationship? I'm thinking that's a prerequisite for the next OC.

Chill.

Its going to be a stellar match, with a guy who has a style and record which is tailored to beat Saban. The zero points scored by Ensminer's approach in '16 tells you that it is not him.

Table your good old boy concerns.

Coach O values his success, resume and dream job way more than some of you realize.

Geaux Tigers!

You do realize that we are talking about the Alleva/O Show, correct? Don't set your expectations too high.

I expected a big name HC to be announced last year around this time. People said roughly the same thing - don't worry, it's not going to be O.

Once it was O, people said, don't worry, this will work because we will get the best coordinators money can buy.

So, what will LSU say if/when Ensminger is named? Don't worry, O is now a proven top-tier HC?

Stuff like this is why Alleva, O, and LSU have zero credibility.

Spot on. At this point I dont even care if Canada leaves or not, there are better OCs out there. But i have a lot of doubt in O and Alleva to go get one of them.

It's a complete shite show, and has been since 11/26/16.

O thought he got a lot of capital for beating Aggie, Arky, Ole Miss, Florida, Tennessee, and AU.

5 of which fired their coaches in 2017
